Just curious what the averages are for people playing Destiny, and if bungie actually collects this data for use in making their games.
I'm seeing a lot of backlash over giving away a fidget spinner and marketing on energy drinks, which I agree with the backlash, those products are garbage at best.
So, are they hitting the target audience? Or should they market toward a different demographic?
Thoughts?

1 ReplyThe way people complain on these forums you'd think it was 5-10yr olds.

Bump, but yes this will only show average ages of forum users, which is probably only about 10% of the entire player base.

I'm 37

It's definitely an older crowd. I can tell by the people I join on LFG sites. I rarely run into teenagers and squeakers. Maybe because they always post "no squeakers". Nice post. I'm in that over 40 group.

4 RepliesEdited by aboniks: 8/4/2017 6:40:27 PMNOTE: "regular destiny forum user age group", should not be confused with the "destiny average age group" Most destiny players don't cruise the forums, and your poll cuts off way too soon. Looking at the trends and numbers in that report, I'd say they aimed squarely at a giant pile of money. Reports on preorders bear that out. Yes, no doubt Bungie takes data on this into account. They probably get hard numbers from activision, who get it by matching retailer data on credit card sales and rewards cards tracking, and comparing that to user profiles and aggregate consumer behavior reports provided by corporate data brokers. MS and Sony know how old their console service account holders are. I'm sure they provide that data to developers as well.
