The Dyson Sphere theory wouldn't work.
It would contain within it far too much mass, and thus carry with it a massive gravitational field, and stars have very violent electromagnetic fields, not to mention the extremely dangerous levels of radiation.
Though there is possibility of a star small enough to exist within the traveler (white dwarf style) all of my previous concerns would still apply.
I get the whole space magic thing.... but I just can't get behind a story that says we can bring an additional star within that proximity and not accidentally destroy earth, if not the whole solar system as the traveler ripped through it.

Yet the fragment states that nothing escapes the enclosure, not even gravity. The Traveller already performs feats with the Light that are truly amazing, such as manipulating the gravity, atmosphere, terrain, and life of entire worlds, so this wouldn't be too difficult for it.

Mah... I didn't read the Grim D: My bad.
