EDIT - can't you guys just throw in an assortment of voices to choose from ? If my GPS could do it, I'm sure you guys can do it.
I don't like it.
I don't want to hear a child robot voice
He's boring, lacks emotion, monotone...
I was never able to follow any story in destiny, because you lose interest so quick, once you hear any dialogue.. At least in my experience.
Why would you guys pay top dollar for Peter Dinklage, & then child robot, when you could have paid one of your many employees peanuts to probably do a better voice. I'm sure you have some very talented employees over at the Bungie Studios, I'm sure there are people who can do some pretty damn good voice acting.
Here's some more of my feedback.-
I never liked Shaxx voice, he's soft, the accent, the lisp....
Caydes whole Deadpool wannabe thing, is super cringey and awkward. He slurs his words like he has some type of Swag when he talks, equally as cringy.
Zavala, ikora, cryptarch, & gun Smith, I like, especially gun Smith. I don't know if it's true but I heard his voice was done by the same person who did Marcus Fenix from Gears of War

I did at first. Now however.... When I first found out that Nolan North was replacing Peter Dinklage as the voice of the Ghost, I decided to replay all of the Vanilla Destiny campaign missions and I must admit, I preferred Nolan's take on the Ghost. Ghost doesn't really have any dialogue in The Dark Below or House of Wolves so the next opportunity to hear Nolan's Ghost came in The Taken King and for the most part I felt as if he did a solid job. I definitely noticed a bit more personality and a bit more humour but I had no issues with it, heck, I liked it. And then somewhere between Rise of Iron and the Destiny 2 Beta, I find that my tolerance for the voice has diminished considerably. That particular tone and pitch of the Ghosts voice, it's not something that works after years of repeated exposure. Bungie's voice acting director should have had Nolan aim for something more soothing rather than something so shrill.

Dinkle "We've woken the Hiiive" Me: Shit...I -blam!-ed up. Nolan 'We've woken the hive :D" Me: Oooh new friends to play with

3 RepliesEdited by TheKungLao: 8/6/2017 12:43:31 AMI like Nolan North, i just dont like his version of the ghost. I'd take Dinklebot any day of the week over Nolanbot.

1 ReplyI'll always like Dinkle-bot better.

He's boring, lacks emotion, monotone...
Did you listen to Dinklage in year 1? Its like they had him record lines while he was on a 45 minute break shooting GoT. Sounded like he didn't want to be there at all.

13 RepliesWe want Dinklebot, not DinkleNot!

Bring back dinkle bot. He's not that busy anymore GoT is almost over.

1 ReplyI actually prefer nolan north over dinklage any day dinklage was so monotone had no emotion and sounded like a machine whereas Nolan north has emotion has different tones and actually sound like he has sentience to all you people hating on Nolan north just deal with it i highly doubt Dinklage will be coming back

4 RepliesEdited by Grumpy-1937: 8/4/2017 1:12:09 AMPlease install a MUTE Switch for baby NolanBot and Failsafe. These are examples of Bungie going after the preteens in Destiny 2 as the AI's sound just like a preteen. Should I mention the Harry Potter connection with the new Logo's The Star wars connection with Gary - the pot marked burn face with the breather - change the armor to black and you have Darth Vader but then the big SMILEY FACE on Gary's chest would not be invisible if his armor was black so we better leave it white because I just love the Big Bad guy to have a smiley face on this chest it makes me soooooo scared. All these things are to target preteen market for D2.

Although I like that Ghost has gotten more light-hearted for me, since Destiny needs more comedy to me, I would really like for either HAL 9000 or Keanu Reeves to voice him.

11 RepliesEdited by megatron1984: 8/3/2017 1:10:42 PMShaxx I don't mind. No lands I can't stand. Warframe used their own community manager to voice lotus.
-
1 ReplyI mean it's an A.I., so it should be monotone. But Dinklage was better for that. North tries too hard to be funny and ends up sounding like an idiotic whiney child
-
2 RepliesOh and don't forget, because our Guardians are dumb mutes, it's not like there is anything to connect to with them either!
-
6 RepliesI can't stand Nolan North as anything other than Drake. This version of the ghost is absolutely awful. As is the so called "humor" dialogue.
-
1 ReplyI do not like Nolan.. At least not for Ghost.. He seems to get more and more whiney the more lines for Ghost he gets..
-
1 ReplyRather the ghost not talk and my guardian did

2 RepliesEdited by Aesc3728: 8/4/2017 11:50:07 AM
He's boring, lacks emotion, monotone...
Hes more emotional and dynamic then the previous ghost voiced by peter dicklage...
Why would you guys pay top dollar for Peter Dinklage, & then child robot, when you could have paid one of your many employees peanuts to probably do a better voice.
The feedback begged to differ... most of the feedback given about the previous ghosts voice said his acting was very monotoned and disintrested. As for hiring one of their employees... there is a difference between someone an no experience and a professional voice actor, clearly. Someone who understand tones, pitches and projection vs. The adverage speaker who doesnt take those into consideration.
I'm sure you have some very talented employees over at the Bungie Studios, I'm sure there are people who can do some pretty damn good voice acting.
Voice acting takes a lot of experience, here is a perfect example: Did you know the voice of veriks the loyal is the same person who voices all the clones in the star wars: clone wars series? As well as klaus from american dad, even as veriks, hes able to project emotions with his voice without drasticly changing his pitch.
I never liked Shaxx voice, he's soft, the accent, the lisp
Obviously all of this is opinion, i actually prefer Shaxx voice, Lennie James, as opposed to a gruff, tougher character shaxx comes off as more of a strategic general.
Caydes whole Deadpool wannabe thing, is super cringey and awkward. He slurs his words like he has some type of Swag when he talks, equally as cringy
. sigh... ive seen these posts before, and im honestly at lost for words. Firstly the concept of a sarcastic, smartass anti-hero type character isnt exclusive to deadpool... Secondly, Caydes "deadpool wannabe thing" started in taken king... released in September 18, 2015. Deadpool came out February 12, 2016... almost 5 months later... clearly cayde is the wannabe...by the way he was voiced by Nathan Fillion.
Zavala, ikora, cryptarch, & gun Smith, I like, especially gun Smith. I don't know if it's true but I heard his voice was done by the same person who did Marcus Fenix from Gears of War
Banshee-44 was indeed voiced by John DiMaggo, aka. Marcus Fenix. Honestly i find Zavala, Ikora, Cryptarch and thee Gunsmith all sound emotionless... they seem like theyre constantly indifferent and static, i feel like Eris Morne and Cayde 6 are much more intresting, they seem like someone id actually have a conversation with. It feels like if i had a conversation with zavala he would just smile blankly throughout.

Never like NolanBot.. just sounds like a whiney 5 yr old. Not some advanced AI
-
He's very annoying.
-
3 RepliesAgreed. You know, it would have required relatively little effort - given the limited lines our Ghost has - to record several voices that we could choose from. Seems like more lazy Bungie bullshit.
-
3 RepliesYou've never seen Nathan Fillian in... anything, have you? Cayde is 100% Nathan Fillian, with some slight vocader added in.
