Why not keep Iron Banner and Trials in Destiny?
No offense to Bungie or the Dev's but after playing the D2 beta i'd rather just play D1 (It's more fun in my opinion).
Why take out game modes when Rise of Iron is still being bought?

2 RepliesIt kinda funny when about a year ago last gen players were asking for the same thing, even had a petition and poll for it and all people could do is vote no, tell them to get over it and move on, and then berate, belittle and insult them over it just because they were on last gen and wanted to continue with IB and ToO. So where then was the support for those players or...as the community called them....poor, whiny, entitled cry babies that just want to hold Destiny back even more for their own selfish reasons?

48 RepliesEdited by TheCyo: 8/2/2017 2:15:51 PMSo to make it short: Bungie still sells D1 in the PS4 store without any hint that they will severely limit the experience you can get in this game within one week. And all of this for pushing D2. And you guys think this is OK. I wonder how far Bungie has to go, so that it is no longer fine for you guys.

I'll still be playing D1. No D2 for me.

23 RepliesWhy do you think? Players in Destiny 1 will get bored without these events and thusss....... They have to buy Destiny 2 in order to play IB and Trials again... Marketing son. Simple yet effective paywall marketing. Absolutely disgusted that they would stoop so low as to remove activity's from a game just to have people buy the sequal. You should be ashamed of yourself Bungie...

11 RepliesEdited by EnVysion: 8/2/2017 11:09:07 PMFor the "No" people: You should look forward for the moment when they content block you on the D2 expansions and when they cut content from the overall game for the launch of D3. Also - just wait a bit until Ubisoft, EA and who knows what other companies start using the same practice... removing content from games that some still want to play (and paid to do so).

I'd love for them to stay (at least Iron Banner) but Bungie isn't going to do it for the following reason:
No offense to Bungie or the Dev's but after playing the D2 beta i'd rather just play D1 (It's more fun in my opinion).
They don't want you playing D1, and they're not going to do anything that gives D1 a leg up on the new game in town. I mean... look how they trashed this game over the last few months. They want D1 to die.

49 Replies1. I'm not at all hyped about D2. I've tried to get excited about it, but it doesn't appear better than D1. 2. Even though 1 is true, I still hope Bungie will incorporate some new game modes in D2 like iron banner that will be more fun and "addicting." 3. IMO D2 seems rushed and unfinished. I'll never understand why devs do this, but they always seem to. The only hope for someone in my shoes is that they produce some serious content into D2 even more so than what they have already. 4. For me total balance is boring. To others it's awesome, and I understand that too. I'm not a competitive player at all. I've never even attempted Trials...been playing since OG VOG. I like abilities. I wish we had more abilities because that's fun to me. 5. All in all, less content does not make a game better. Just my .02

4 RepliesNo buy the new game yours sincerely ACTIVISION

2 RepliesLOL at anyone voting no. Because who wouldn't want less stuff to do if they get bored of D2/don't like it at all? There's zero reason they can't have it on the rotation they already set for roi banner, nor trials. It'd simply be a script that kept running, same with the NF or weekly strikes

Technological obsolescence, bungie has created a new product and they want you to purchase it.

4 RepliesEdited by Sanctified N7: 8/2/2017 1:48:00 PMYou know why. Now chop chop and purchase Destiny 1.5.

So in one of those interviews for Destiny 2. It was asked if Destiny 2 would have a PTS for updates and the answer was no, for now. The reason for that is because Bungie, in its current state, doesn't have the man power to run two separate versions for every platform. I would say that would be Bungie's reason. Just my thought on it.

They are live events. The more that goes into a game that is finished and will not receive any more content, the less that goes into what's next for Destiny.

No more iron lagger please God no more.

Surprised this thread isn't filled with Rick roll links lol

Nope. Player base will be so thin you'll be matching the third world countries that bought it for $7.77. It's just not worth maintaining events. I'll still pop in the regular Crucible just for nostalgic purposes but that's about it. All things must end.

6 RepliesWith the paltry amount of players left in D1, how many do you think will be around after D2 drops? Yesterday, 312k people played PvP, one of the lowest totals I've seen in a while and it's the last IB of D1. What will the D1 PvP experience be like in Sept for IB or Trials? Terrible - laggy matches and half-filled lobbies because the playerbase is spread thin across the globe. Sometimes its better to deny an experience than provide a bad one.

Yes, I would like these to remain for at least a year or so. I feel like content that is inaccessible because the "new" game is coming out is a low blow to consumers who bought the game in its entirety. In my opinion, there should be continued support for features such as these. It makes me wonder if Bungie simply wants to be rid of the Destiny Beta, ur, I mean, Destiny 1 and immediately distract us with something else because it's new and shiny... On the subject of the discontinued support for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game I feel that it was only acceptable if they did not add anymore content to those versions. Bungie also allowed people to transfer their characters to the XBOX ONE and PS4, and continued to add content. If Bungie had simply ended the entire game on the previous consoles and not allowed progress transfer, there would have been major problems. A change or upgrade in consoles is fine as long as people are able still play the game. A change of game is a change of experience. An example would be when Star Wars switched to DVD from VHS. Could you still watched Star Wars? Yes you could! A change of game is similar to wanting to watch Star Wars (A New Hope), finding out that it will never be shown again, and being stuck with only the third prequel to watch... (Sad Face)

D2 is a done deal. Move on. D1 has gone the way of every other game. Into dust

Adios

This is what they did to legacy consoles. No reason why they won't do this to d1, with d2 coming out.

2 RepliesEdited by AlamoCity: 8/3/2017 1:47:16 PMI want a fresh start, not a continuation of D1. Bungie will come up with other $#!t for end-game activities. Trials of Osiris will be back in D2 as Trials of the Nine. We'll likely get Iron Banner-like end-game activities through the DLCs and/or updates. Besides, PvE content needs to take precedence over PvE for D2 anyway.
