Can anyone confirm or deny that you can mix and match the skills?
I'm so disappointed with the direction bungie have gone regarding skill trees, it's so dumbed down it's ridiculous, at least if you can mix up the skills from top and bottom it might add some customisation to our guardians.
As it stands now everyone is going to be playing the same thing.

The key one that isn't immediately apparent is that it will allow bungle to balance some op abilities by not allowing the player to combine them in ways that makes for completely op builds. They can keep some abilities (eg DOT burns) powerful by controlling what other perks they can be combined with (eg any seeking grenades). This in my view makes all the other compromised worth it- we can have powerful and interesting abilities without completing breaking game balance. Edit - it also looks to me like the menu has room for one or two more skill trees per subclass... So I think we probably will gain variations and choices over the lifespan of D2.
