In the cutscene of the Awoken's attack on the Dreadnought, Mara Sov's flagship had a double-barrel turret on her ship, which is not present on other Ketches. This got me wondering if your average Ketch has any in-built weapons. There's several small circular openings on the hull of the ship that could be weapon ports, but AFAIK it's unknown if these could be weapons.
On a related note, is it safe to assume that a Ketch can accommodate at least 6 Skiffs, given that during public events we tend to see 5 fly by alongside the Ketch while the one that will initiate the event descends on the area? This number could rise to 7 if we consider that the Fallen Walker public event involves 2 Skiffs: the first one drops troops before the second one with the Walker itself arrives.

A ketch isnt generally supposed to be deployed on the ground, it usually takes a Kell or an Archon Priest to organize a landing. A standard Ketch's purpose may be to just carry munitions and armory, along with the crew inside it. Skiffs and Walkers may be deployed where needed.

In the Taniks boss room, we can see several Fallen Walkers in the opposite wall from when you walk in. We can assume that many more are stored behind them or are located near them. I'm pretty sure we can assume a Ketch can hold many skiff just by its size.

Edited by Zelrons: 7/30/2017 5:30:03 PMThe Skiffs you see during Public events are escorting the Ketch, not coming out of it. Based on how large a Ketch actually is if it has a dedicated hanger it could hold a lot more than 7 Skiffs.

Liked your story . But the real question is. Why has the ketch in the plaguelands never been open to explore.
