Can We Mute Luke Smith After D2 Sells And Scores Below Expectation?
Something isn't right. Pete Parsons made things worse. Luke Smith keeps running his cheeky mouth. Noseworthy is still trying to figure out what 60fps means. Lars still can't figure out how to balance special so he just removed it.
What's the issue here?

They're incompetent. They cater to PvP(the vast minority of the player base) instead of actually improving the game. Destiny was advertised as an epic PvE space magic shooter. PvP is killing the franchise.

Bungie is owned by Activision, who MUST be paying off reviewers for them to still be in business after their long streak of shitty games and poor decisions. And of course, they will always have their legion of ass kissing streamers who will constantly praise the game despite its obviously shitty state.

4 RepliesWatch all the IGN first cuts and listen to Noseworthy and Smith explain their philosophy for D2. Smith said they nailed it on Taken King DLC and D2 would reflect that mentality. I agree with that and hold my judgement till launch of D2.

18 RepliesEdited by LRG21: 7/30/2017 8:42:43 AMLuke Smith creates some discomfort whenever he does an interview, but as the design lead for the taken king, which is arguably when Destiny was at its best; I think the man should be given some leeway at least until we play the full game. Despite what many people say, 60fps is not the industry standard. When a game is played in 60fps, it looks and plays better. But not every game can achieve a stable 60fps. Battlefield 1 is usually referenced, but that is a dynamic frame rate that varies depending on the level of action on screen. Titanfall 2 is a good example of a 60fps title, but remember that it is largely a multiplayer shooter with little outside of its pvp matches. 60fps is easier to do in it because they don't also have an open world and PVE elements to program for. EDIT: You can also reference multiple pve and pvp titles that are 60fps, but there are few titles that combine the two like Destiny. Until there is another large competitor for Destiny in this genre which creates a benchmark, I'm not going to hold the lack of 60fps against Bungie. I'd say special weapons in the power slot is a pretty good balance. The weapons aren't available as often but retain their killing power. If you have a better method for balancing snipers, shottys, and fusions then share it please. The issue here is that you've posted this in feedback, but you haven't given any real feedback. Everyone has an opinion, but few have informed opinions. Contribute to the conversation by offering solutions, not pointing out problems (which are hardly problems to begin with).

3 RepliesThe issue is that they---and most of the pvp community---wanted a game that plays like Halo in the Crucible. You can't have a game that plays like Halo unless it is designed like Halo. The weapon system change causes the game to behave like Halo in pvp. You have to fight with your primary weapon unless you can control the map enough to get power ammo.

3 RepliesYour wallet is the ultimate form of feedback as to whether a game was good or bad. Should the 2.5 star rating D2 beta rec'd on Xbox equate to average sales numbers then you can maybe expect some changes to occur. D2 on PC is going to be an interesting side note however. This is where things could get interesting. Will the PC market offset the loses from the console market to provide the necessary numbers and therefore classify D2 as a successful release? If this doesn't happen it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Activision assumes total control of the franchise for D3 and Bungie sells out and disappears being forever remembered as a 2nd rate Dev. Company.

If only. The entire team should pull a HelloGames radio silence (ala NMS). IGN has sold out their score for exclusive access so expect bias to be on full effect. 60fps should be the standard and yet this game misses that mark even with the 1X around the corner and Pro hitting its stride.

Only thing I wanna mute is the trend of making explosion sounds when talking about guns and supers. Call me the fun police but its really really cringey.
