A fanboy is someone that blindly loves everything about a game and refuses to acknowledge the faults, and like to call people who critique the game "Haters" if you are such a person, then you're a fanboy. and I'm 38, so....yeah, theory disproved.

  • everything has faults. if youre 38 and been gaming since the 80s then you know some of the best games had faults.. and we played them anyway. and loved them. AND DIDNT HAVE FORUMS TO BITCH AND MOAN. and that was a good time. because developers stuck to their vision, and it was good. Now you have forums like this and some companies like bungie who buckle under the loud whine of crybabies and games become even worse. I bet you played golden eye. I bet you like so many of us found a ton of shit to fault about it or would like changed that never happened but the game was stupid fun regardless. and even if you didnt play it there are endless titles you could name. it doesnt make someone a fan boy saying ok we get it you dont like it stfu and play or play something else. weeee didnt make the game. trying to impose our vision on to someone elses project is supreme arrogance. dont like it, dont play it. plenty other games to go enjoy or hate. simple solution from a 30 something

Here's the one MAJOR thing you are overlooking with your reply. Back in the day the game was the game and there was no changing it once it shipped. The games shipped complete and largely bug free, because that had to, there was no fix it later with an update. there were no games that were "Actively" managed. Destiny is not an OG Nintendo or Sega or even Ps1 or Ps2, or Xbox game, this is a game that is constantly being fcuked with with both good and Ill results. constantly tinkering with a product that shipped flawed to start with will engender a ton of criticism A fanboy is someone that blindly loves everything about a game and refuses to acknowledge the faults. people complain about things in the hope that they will be fixed or adjusted. people hardly ever complained back in the day because- A. There was nothing the developer could do anyway, they would have to redo the game and ship a new one. that was never and has never happened even for deeply flawed games. and mainly because B. There was no easy way to complain lol, there were no forums, the internet was in a nascent state, and a little later it was not outsider friendly place to interact with people. about the only thing you could do is write a strongly worded letter lol so, I don't really feel the comparison is warranted people complain because the developer can hear us, and can actually do something about the faults. you think oddjob would've lasted a month in this world we currently live in? I think not and nor should it. it was a huge oversight and it could never be fixed, so it never was, and lots of people complained about it but it was basically yelling at the clouds for want of rain, there was nothing Nintendo could do about it

Acknowledge a fault 2. Comment on said fault and 3. Carry on playing cause they like said game. Those are fanboys? So the person who acknowledges, comments, carrys on playing, continues commenting and bitching, keeps playing...shall we call those players idiots? You have a choice friend. Play or dont. A company makes a game YOU dont connect with then why play? Unless you too are a "fanboy" 🤔🤔🤔 It was better when developers made what they wanted. And we played if we wanted. Without all this extra bullshit that has players thinking its THEIR game to executive produce. Cause most of you suck at it

  • most of you? I think you need to go look at my play history before saying that. aside from my nephew playing for a couple hours over the last 3 weeks I haven't played since last October, I'm far from a fanboy lol. I stay on these forums to get news about a game I like and to get news about the sequel. hopefully they'll fix some stuff I said to myself, they never did though. I played the Beta and was not impressed, I'm hoping that somehow they'll change some things but I doubt they will, so I'll stay away longer. I think the changes they made are awful across the board and doubt I'll get it because of those changes. but I'm entitled to voice my opinion without being shouted down by rabid fans.
