It's used to describe people who blindly defend a company, despite repeated, proven lies to the customers, because they cannot stand the thought that someone disagrees with them.
Fanboys are fragile snowflakes who think that a negative opinion about destiny somehow reflects on them. This is because their identity is tied to the game. Insulting destiny is like insulting their mother, they're irrational about it.
Such a reaction is an indication of an immature individual.
