So there's this Titan right, all he has to do is "tap L1+R1" for one super or "hold L1 + R1" and he gets another super. I wonder if the same mechanic couldn't have worked with Warlocks, like when you are alive "tap L1 + R1" for Dawnblade and when you're beyond the grave traversing the abyss; "tap L1 + R1" to revive. You would think that for all the button combinations that are possible, they just simply ran out? Or was it said Titan master race saying to raggedly looking Warlock "git gud".

Edited by RPColten: 8/2/2017 11:02:24 PMThey are not bringing back Fireborn. It was one of the primary reasons that the Sunsinger class was so dramatically changed in comparison to the other classes. PC Gamer article from June 13th with Luke Smith: http://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-luke-smith-on-pc-features-pvp-new-subclasses-and-more/2/
How did you decide which subclasses you wanted to give more major overhauls? "We peer into the subclasses and look at opportunities. While I know that many players love the Sunsinger warlock, I think the fantasy of having a super in Destiny is the fantasy of using it, and the Sunsinger encouraged you to not use your super. It encouraged you to sit on it and use it like a one-up when it was time. That also makes things like counterbalance more of a headache than we want it to be. So we knew we wanted to give the solar Warlock an overhaul."
Whether or not you agree with the change, I'm just providing insight as to why it was.

>be me playing wrath with lfg team >Sunsinger constantly up front next to aksis because he has self-rez >Keep telling him he still needs to be cautious and not die, super is just a backup >Tells me not to worry >Sunsinger dies, self-rezes >Aksis does a burst aoe attack cause sunsinger is too close >Sunsinger died instantly, we have to wipe I hate sunsingers

They are not bringing back fireborn. It broke the game
-
1 ReplyPeople always bitch about sunsinger but 80% of time I use it as a means to revive idiot hunters who go too far ahead or into spaces too dangerous without any consideration for the team.
-
4 RepliesSelf revive is gone because Bungie never likes it when we play the game our way.
-
Sunsinger was used in two ways. You either sat on it all the time until you died, which meant that the super was more beneficial when NOT used, or you used it to spam grenades, which is pretty lame for a super, especially when compared to any of the others. This change is good, it means that you have to use your super and when you do, the super does the work. It makes the super actually feel like a super.
-
3 RepliesI was a Sunsinger main for almost all of D1, and I agree with getting rid of it. The real reason the class was fun to play was its neutral game, not its super. With Dawnblade, if they do it right, you could have the most in-depth and unique neutral game we've ever seen. It's just hell to balance encounters around someone that won't stay dead.
-
1 ReplyCould have kept Sunsinger, but removed fireborn. Gonna be a bunch more wipes now.
-
It was overpowered
-
1 ReplySelf res is for the trash people that died all the time, im glad its gone
-
3 RepliesSunsinger: Ok need to play cautiously no taking chances. Super is ready: LEEROY JENKINSSSSS Guardian Down: HAAA AHHH not so fast L1+R1 a grenade for you a grenade for you don't run you will only die tired. Super Runs Out: Crap time to hide.
-
Looking back, I played way more cautiously with sunsinger. Perhaps Bungle realized that saving a super for death instead of using it more often wasn't the way to go.
-
I don't care that self Rez is gone but I loved the other 2 subclass builds with Sunsinger, they could have ditched self res and kept Sunsinger and added the dawnblade in lieu of the self Rez.

1 Reply- They practically killed the bubbles true usefulness. It's bassicly a nostalgic perk given to the fans and nothing more. It's not as if the titan bubble will be giving blessings or weapons (the only reason people really use it in PvE). It's one of those things that will be used once in a blue moon and nothing more. - Self Res was the basis for every raid cheese / solo tactic available. I can fully understand a developer not wanting to reintroduce something of that magnitude. - It promoted sloppy gameplay tactics in PvE for your average player. It was also a rather big waste of a super if the player never actually did died, as they normally hang on to it. That puts the team down 1 super. In PvP it was viable but ultimately useless a player knew you had self res. I think it would be cool if you could hold down the super button, similiar to the bubble on sentinel, and it grants something akin to the old Sunsinger with "Song of Flame" activated.

It broke every endgame level of the game from raids to trials apparently.
-
1 ReplyWhy make us a,mute in d2?
-
Because it broke Bungie's Tiger engine. Meow...
-
Cause that would be craziness lol, if the did that they'd have to do something with hunter as well like go invis
-
66 RepliesBecause Trials.
-
-
5 RepliesBecause butthurt crucibabies.
-
Let see them self rez from this nerf.
-
3 RepliesBecause Fireborn broke the game. It allowed for self revives which made soloing raids possible when raids are meant to be a team activity and the hardest thing to complete in the game so it doesn't surprise me that they got rid of it.
-
12 RepliesLook, simply put it broke the game. It made soloing the hardest activity possible which it shouldn't be. It broke trials many many times. And as they said it means that you hang onto your super which isn't fun either.
-
1 ReplyBecause good players don't need a Mulligan.
-
4 RepliesI like the different types of super based on activation. But sunsinger was likely killed off to get rid of self res, be easier to balance, and be more useful in pve if self res is gone.
