I realize people who are complaining about enemies being too tanky have never read the grimore cards. The cabal lore is defined around order and strongholds. They pack into a location, fortify up, then slowly move forward. However the red legion is the more "spec ops" Force for them, taking risks and specialising in defensive seige tactics. You also have to remember, when you first made a character in D1, do you remember fighting the captains. This guy's soaked some damage with the under-leveled guns you were provided with. A lot of players that came from D1 into the beta were maxed light, max level, had a feel for the skills and their class and we're used to melting the enemies face off. I agree with this post that I love how enemies are more tanky, you can't just run up and hip fire a auto rife at these guys. Take a mid ranged position, aim for weak point, burst fire auto for maximum effectiveness. When the taken got introduced we had to change our playstyle up a bit, as for every enemy you faced in D1. Charging straight ahead at a phalax won't work unless you are looking to get smashed into a wall, you had to change up the way you played for a split second to kill him. I do agree cooldowns need a sizeable buff, but gun damage is right where it needs to be. Some may argue the fact that "well our weapons were legendary and a exotic, it should be doing some damage". You were fighting to hold the tower, if you went in guns blazing and enemies died from just you looking at them, would it feel like you were on the brink of loosing everything? We have yet to play the final product, they have 2 months to patch things up, we can tell they are listening to us cuz they announced a increase in power ammo. Also just a little side note. Anyone saying the shotgun doesn't feel like a heavy has either never used it or never experienced D1 shotguns, the one they gave you absolutely shredded ads. #Rantover

  • The game was just poorly tuned. We were not as powerful as a light 200 Guardian should be. Period.

  • And if we hadn't already fought a ton of cabal, I would agree with this. But bungie just went lazy and made them bullet sponges. We know what bullets do to legionaires faces. If they wanted to make the enemies harder, they could have just given plate armor that drops after x amount of hits, then giving us enemies the same as before. But they didn't want to do the extra when they could just reduce bullet damage. The argument that this group of cabal have denser flesh or something just seems ridiculous to me.

  • Even then it is a totally different cabal faction, it's like if we were the enemies always fighting hunters, then they decide to throw a bunch of Titans our way for the first time. Titans are still considered be "Guardians" but are they the same as a hunter?, will they play differently, there are some similarities but all in all throwing a different faction but same race at us does have some differences and we will have to adapt to that. Don't forget we were under leveled for all the encounters from the beta as well (minus pvp)

  • Underleveled by 5 light, unless they've completely revamped the light system, 5 light isn't shit. Your example fall apart since we are still fighting legionaire, psion, centurions, etc. The only exception to the enemies would probably be the centurion since you could say their energy shield technology is more advanced than regular cabal, everything else plays the same. You cant say hunter v Titan for multiple reasons, 1 they take the same number of shots to kill, 2. They are different character types and the new enemies are the same types just with pallette swaps...

  • Also I'm pretty sure it takes more bullets to kill a Titan with force barrier, ward of dawn, class ability. That's 3 shields. And the comparing the two Hunter and Titan was supposed to be a reference to the red legion and cabal. They are from the same race/group but obviously have some differences, not to be taken so literally. Which if you say that a Hunter and Titan don't have different playstyles idk what game you are playing 😂

  • If I saw phalynxes punching me to gain health, ok. If you used the new phalynxes extending shield as an example, ok. But to say that their flesh is able to take more bullets because they train harder is a little bit of a stretch. Also, I didn't say that hunters and Titans played the same, just that it took the same number of bullets to take them down...

  • Did I say their flesh was able to take more bullets?(being serious here, idk if I did or not) All in all yes we know how much it takes to kill a normal cabal. But to be fair for cabal to be like they were in D1 same house same ttk. A bit boring don't you think? I love that they have more hours, the longer they take to kill the more time the battlefield is in motion and changed on the battlefield can happen

  • It's the cabal red legion which we have never gone up against. I'm pretty sure bungie went with the known enemy because we have four them, we know who they are, and they were kinda the red headed step child in D1 cuz they did not get a raid specific to them. They were always just kind of ...there..., To make guardians have a sense of revenge and anger towards a enemy that is known rather than just some random faction newly introduced and takes the tower would be harmful to the already miniscule story that destiny 1 had. "Where did this new faction come from, never heard of them from destiny one days, now they are gunna put these new guys in and make up some quick story of oh ya these guys have been here all along scouting you out", instead of a enemy that knows and has experienced first hand the power that light offers. And to the point on the same enemy's, yes they are the same race, yes the legionnaire look the same minus being a bit more tanky but psions are different with the ability to knock up and wild snipers, a flamethrower class has been introduced, a alien dog is new, the dual wield tanks new, flying cabal with grenade launcher type weapons, shielded cabal that can hold a point covering 3 allies in the process other than just themselfs. And probably more types we didn't get a chance to play against. They are not the same in my opinion and with the new class changes added in to the new enemies, D2 will be a different fight with different strategy to go along with it.

  • Also we were under leveled by 10 light, guardians started at 200 content was 210. They could have revamped the light system like you stated so we will just have to wait and see

I really don't give a shit about the grimore cards nor does at least 80% of this community I just want PvE to be like it was in destiny 1 faster ttk quicker cooldown

  • I agree with you on the faster cooldowns, and the faster ttk will come when we get higher level. As of right now we were 200 out of the recommended 210 light for the story and strike, ttk goes down when you are under-leveled. Also there are some interesting bits of information in the grimore cards from D1. Like how all of the story so far in D2 was predicted in D1. The cabal tried "killing" a ghost to try and stop guardian's from respawning. Then they started to plan on a device to capture our light. Lots don't care to read them but if you do the D1 game makes a bit more sense. I'm just glad they finally have a story "in" the game.

  • I remember playing some of the early D1 story mode solo and having to snipe the wizards (aka "witches" lol) from afar. I had low level weapons and character and if I would run in guns blazing, they would send me right back to my checkpoint. It was slow go too because when I would make some progress on them they would hide to recharge their shields. And...I actually enjoyed doing this. It was a challenge. Toward the middle to end of D1 I can recall being in a fire-teams and them actually getting frustrated when things seemed to take more than 5 minutes to finish. I'm looking forward to new content that is challenging and takes a little time to build up to and figure out. :)

  • We're not early level characters in the beta. We are mid-to-early end game. We were so underpowered in the beta that the strike The showed us would have had a boss fight that would have basically been unplayable as a Nightfall.

  • I think you're taking my post a little out of context. I'm just saying I like the challenge and we don't know how we'll start out or how leveling will work.

  • I think most players forgot about that time, where you would team kill a wizard and it was a huge achievement. People spent too much time in late game. Bungie will need to increase the level jumps tho. Cuz the ones they gave us with the expansion didn't seem too hard, if they maybe doubled it we would be brought back down to reality and not think of ourselfs as gods.
