Vault of Glass raid walkthrough (incl. challenges) PART 1 - 10

VAULT OF GLASS – STRATEGY (INCL. CHALLENGE MODE) 1. BUILDING THE SPIRE At the beginning of the raid you will have to RAISE THE SPIRE in order to open the vault door. This is accomplished by defending three sync plates (LEFT – MIDDLE – RIGHT). When standing on these sync plates a vex wall will spawn and it will be colored white. When all three sync plates are active the spire will be forming. You need to defend these areas from enemies entering. When praetorians enter the area, the white vex wall will turn red en the spire will stop forming. Once the spire is fully formed it will shoot a laser at the vault door, opening it. TEAM SETUP: For this first part it is best to split up in to three teams of 2. The weakest members of your fireteam (if any) should take the middle area, for there will be little to none adds there. Otherwise team up with one experienced member and one lesser experienced member of your fireteam. 2. CHEST #1 Follow the path down into the vault to discover the first chest and open it. 3. CHEST #2 Instead of following the path to the left you should go ahead from the chest to the edge, now turn around, face the chest. Jump of the ledge and jump right back under the ledge into a small opening. This might take some practice, depending on your jumping skills. Once inside, follow the path and find the next chest. (*videolink of route) 4. TEMPLAR: DEFENDING THE CONFLUX PART 1 After opening the chest follow the route to the next encounter area. There will be a conflux in the back middle area which you need to defend against the vex sacrificing themselves on it. Watch out for fanatics! They are glowing green. Once you destroy a fanatic – they will leave a glowing green puddle of goo on the ground. Whatever you do, don’t step into the goo. If you do, you will need to cleanse in the middle front area. This can only be done a certain amount of times. So try and avoid needing it. If you are not cleansed when the ritual of negation starts, you will die. After defending for awhile the following text appears above your super: “The Templar summons its legions” When this text appears everyone should focus on the adds that spawn in the middle front area coming up the stairs. Use your supers/heavy weapons in order to stop the onslaught of Vex and many fanatics. Again do not get into the green goo. Also watch out for Axis Harpies. They can be harmful to our guardians, we do not like them. Use a good secondary weapon on them. TEAM SETUP: Split into three teams of two. One team covering the adds on the left, one in the middle back part and one on the right. Lesser experienced guardians should go either middle or right. 5. TEMPLAR: DEFENDING THE CONFLUX PART 2 Same cycle different confluxes. Instead of one conflux, there will be two confluxes. One on the left and one on the right. The teams should still stay at the same spots and the middle team can jump in if an extra hand is needed on either side while still defending the mid section. 6. TEMPLAR: DEFENDING THE CONFLUX PART 3 Same cycle but now with three confluxes. That’s right: left, middle and right. After this final round you get a reward. And we move on to the oracles. 7. TEMPLAR: ORACLES Whilst keeping the same team setup, this time we will need to destroy oracles. The middle team should also be on sniper duty. At first the oracles will cycle up. You hear the sound and you see each oracle light up. Get familiar with these locations and with the sound they make, so you will be on the lookout. This part is all about destroying oracles. Failing to destroy an oracle before the ritual of negation will lead to the whole fireteam being “Marked by an oracle”. That means the entire team will have to cleanse. After the cleanse, the failed oracle round will start again. There are 7 oracle locations. The one back left is especially annoying, because the team on the left hand side might not spot this oracle themselves. The team on the right hand side should be on the lookout for that oracle as well. When spotted, call it out to the team and if possible shoot it from the right hand side too. You will need to get through 4 or 5 rounds of oracles in total. Just keep shooting them and kill the adds. Be on the lookout for those snipers that spawn on the outside of the map. They are the real threat to your success. The middle team can try and take out as many snipers as they can. But do not hesitate shooting a sniper when being shot at. The main focus on the left and right team should nevertheless be the oracles. WEAPONS: If you have raid weapons from a previous encounter, equip them. These weapons have the perk of being oracle disruptors, making it easier to destroy oracles. If you don’t have these you can also use a good secondary weapon (shotgun / fusion). The hunter gunslinger also takes these oracles out. 8. TEMPLAR (CHALLENGE 1) Once the relic holder picks up the relic, the final templar battle begins. The templar will spawn into the middle and FOUR RED ORACLES will appear. Destroy these four oracles. Once they are all destroyed the relic holder will use his super to destroy the shield of the Templar. STRATEGY 1: At this point you might get a shield around you. Shoot the shield and take positions. One guardian should remain at the right site behind the wall of the teleport spot. When the ring turns red, the Templar will try and teleport there. If the guardian on the right is standing in the right spot, the ring will turn white, thus preventing the templar from teleporting there. The four other guardians should also be standing on the rigt side. Preferably two on add control. The other two on doing damage to the templar. The second teleport spot on the left side will be dealt with by the relic holder. The relic holder waits on the left back side. No adds will go there. Once the ring on teleport spot on the left turns red, the relic holder waits for just a sec or two, than jumps in the spot, making the circling turn white, preventing the templar from teleporting. While standing there the relic holder activates his shield to block the attack of the templar. Once the templar focuses on the other spot on the right hand side, the relic holder once again returns to the safe spot on the left back side. When his super is charged he can also do damage to the templar. STRATEGY 2 (BEST): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMNl8orV6Iw&feature=youtu.be The relic holder just keeps running between the two teleportation spots. And the other 5 guardians will go in the center back. Put up a bubble with weapons of light, tether the templar and go to town. The adds won’t really come up to you, so you can do constant damage. The relic holder should take the long way to get to the teleportation sites. If you are too soon your shield won’t last long enough to defend. Strategy two is faster when mastered. But both work fine. If you fail the teleport, the challenge failed and you should wipe your team. Just keep damaging the templar and claim your reward. 9. HEADING TO THE GORGONS MAZE CHEST #1 Do not go through the main door after completing the templar challenge. Instead go to the left side of the map towards the stairs where the left conflux was. Walk up to the first few steps of the stairs and watch up to your right. There is a hole in the wall. Go through. You will find a chest here. CHEST #2 Once opened go left and down through a tiny opening in the floor. You may have to crouch a bit here. Follow the path down. Keep left and down until you reach the second chest. CHEST #3 Once you’ve opened chest number 2 move further down and enter the maze filled with Gorgons (we don’t like them – the feeling is mutual - and we avoid eye contact at all times). When entering the maze go straight and hold right until you reach another chest area. Be sure not to get caught by one of the Gorgons. ***in the map follow the blue line to chest #2 (our #3)*** GETTING THROUGH THE MAZE UNSCAVED Go back to the start of the maze. Follow the route on the left (blue and orange lines) indicated on the map of Taux. Pause at the right moments to prevent gorgons form seeing you. Be sure to be as silent as possible. Try and avoid as much double jumps as you can and refrain from using invisibility grenades for the sound attracts the gorgons gaze. Once you’re across the entrance of the vault, make sure there are no gorgons in the immediate area and make a run for the entrance. Head on through the small cave corridor and get ready for a short jumping puzzle. 10. JUMPING PUZZLE AHEAD Just before you can enter the Vault of Glass there is a small jumping puzzle with platforms appearing and disappearing rather quickly. You can either complete the jumping puzzle by using all of the platforms that appear and disappear or you can use two or three as stepping stones and jump on to the ledge on the far side of the room and make your way further down the left via this ledge to reach the entrance of the vault. Once everybody reaches the vaults entrance, the door will open.
