My case for Snipers, Shotguns, and Fusion Rifles

Initially Destiny 1 gave players a lot of freedom in PvP to fight the way they wanted to. Destiny 1 was a breath of fresh air for PvP because it was an arcade style shooter that allowed for a player to create their very own play style with very little restrictions in terms of stats and the type of guns allowed. For instance, I designed my character around speed. I used various scouts but the MIDA was my main and I used a variety of snipers depending on the map and my opponents. It wasn't until Bungie limited secondary ammo that I realized they were taking away freedom of play in order to normalize combat to hand cannons, assault rifles, scouts, and pulse rifles. This took away from the multi-tiered combat and strategic gameplay that Destiny 1 initially had. I was a wholly mid to long range player. My two teammates (3v3 and Trials gametypes) were more close range. We were effective at winning with this combination strictly due to the freedom Bungie gave us with our play styles and strategy of play. We were also skilled players individually. Not everyone can use a sniper rifle, shotgun, or fusion rifle effectively and I believe that's why Bungie has virtually taken them out of the equation in Destiny 2's PvP. There is no denying that the PvP feels much different. I'm accusing Bungie of taking away a player's individual skill in Destiny 2 in favor of a more team oriented style of play that makes everyone feel "better". We can see this by taking away the K/D in favor for team "efficiency". Our deaths are also no longer logged. Bungie has now forced us to more or less use the same guns which all happen to be primaries from Destiny 1 with exceptions for the sidearm. By taking away individuality in PvP it severely limits the scope of play. Now a team simply skirmishes for most of the game in close to mid range combat. It is also near impossible for a single person to wipe a 4-player team with only a primary. It isn't because that one player lacks the skill to do it. He just no longer has the means or equipment to do so. I'm sure there are many of us who felt comfortable in a 1v3 situation in Trials because you had the confidence in your own skill to win. I think our individual skill will be severely limited by not having snipers, shotguns, and fusion rifles in the mix this time around. I believe what occurred in Destiny 1 was that a skill gap was created with the freedom we were given and Bungie did not like the fact they had created a system of inequality amongst their players. I think this shows in the Destiny 2 Beta.
