These were the first words spoken by Luke Smith, and the first sign of bad things to come for actual Destiny players.
While I'm a fan of certain things which have been fixed from D1 and not liking what I am seeing being limited to things like crucible, ect..... being a negative nancy with statements like that is something I disagree with.
No one wants to listen to people make your statements OP. Being negative and putting things up like that is something from mid 20's to low 10's age groups and none of it is helping an argument besides sounding childish.
To put the question more bluntly: What would have been a more positive message for them to have said? Why is it you and other negative nancies specifically target people simply explaining their motivations behind things? Did you fail to learn that any and all skeptics out there is everyone and no one? How? Because absolutely no one wants to hear negative statements all the time. Do you?
Feeling insulted yet? Luke Smith didn't think that we understood the principles behind Destiny 1's PvP and that making the maps smaller, with less players and forcing weak primary weapons into our hands somehow made it "easier to understand".
You feel insulted by that? I would tell you man to man not to be so dramatic or emotional about this. Sooner or later you will understand that things like this is about a lot of factors like: Why do other games create a sense of mastery in the first place? Why do other multiplayer games make it so there is similar applications for it's players across the board? Why do player outreach programs specifically say they don't like player against player because of the complexity of knowing which guns to use and lack of variety or ANY reason out there?
When you get older, you will understand these are called social experiments. They are experiments because you, others, and I have not tried them out yet. We have not been made accustomed to them yet. And yes, you learn to accept that it is an entire multiplayer framework at play which they do NOT have the time to overhaul and redo from scratch.
You need to be clear about the activities you want, unchanged, and you better hope it is popular enough to be noticed because that is the issue at hand. They had 1, 2, or 3 years to build Destiny 2 and we got what we got now.
Oh boy.... bad sign? Stay with me here....
There's nothing wrong with explaining one kid plays certain activities and another plays other activities.
LOL? Team shooting as a mastery technique? LOL again. He waits for applause, people don't know that this is time to applause. Its awkward.
Chuckling at you right now.
Your in for a rude awakening later in life kiddo. Very rude and you will probably get very emotional about it considering your lack of maturity in all this. Lesson to learn for you: Never attack someone online for something they say on a video when it comes fro a developer, explaining what is going on, and why they did things. Why? Because the consequences of your actions will lead to worse actions down the road. Every time you do it.
The "idea" behind professionalism is the adult who works? Needs it all the time. It's never switched off. If you swing for someone, your the guilty party and certain people will simply shrug you off as the 10 year old you sound like... or be like me and grin at you because your anything, but noteworthy. Eventually? You'll be written up as part of "that troll group" wherein people wish you never had the right to voice your concerns because you yourself are not worth the expenditure. Again, do not run this course. It has never, and will never, end well for those who are looking for answers, get said answers, and then see childish remarks specifically targeting individuals solely because you found a statement funny and wanted to use that to call question to someone's integrity. Sorry, but that is another hallmark of those who should ideally stay silenced.
After playing this Beta, most of us know that its completely false.
That's your opinion. I'm no negative nancy, but I found positive things I liked and negative things I didn't like in the beta. Which is why my pre-order, same as most pre-orders, are still there and probably got more newcomers to pre-order.
Still trying to figure out where i am going with this? Sorry, but there's more to address first.
It's very simple kiddo: Your whining about things you don't like (ok, fair enough). You are also being a negative nancy. And you are saying you don't respect people while being overly dramatic about it.
Sorry for you only because after this little rant of yours you will probably be muted for failing to be respectful.
Oh and that "watchable" bit? That's code word for we're trying super hard to make this an Esport
And what is so wrong with an eSport? Since you want to make a game more competitive, would you not want to do that? Or would you rather have 20 or so ability cooldowns like WoW does and force raids/PvP to become a massive WTF killed me zone?
Holy mother of god.... did i hear that right? yup.
*see overly dramatic comment above*
its done FOR KIDS. Its done for CASUALS
Competitive shooters in the early 2000's and the later 90's know this formula really well kiddo: Simplicity is what keeps a game going. Complexity is what kills it. Good luck figuring out what it means to be casual from competitive or when you are a combination of both.

^^^ This guy...

What about it?
-
Exerting a tone of uncouth, off-topic condescension.
-
Uncouth- Not in the slightest. Don't presume. Off-topic- Have been on topic the entire time. Condescension- You should see the explanation for uncouth. Specifically the "Don't presume" part. I'm not here to tell a random nobody person to change themselves in real life. I'm here to enjoy my time and explain how they went well past the line of "constructive feedback" and did so because said person up there should probably be looking at how they reason through things. Being a child isn't a crime. It's just annoying.
-
Oh wait, I think I see. This is satire right? Please be satire. I'm sorry, but I can't agree with you that your contribution to this column does not lack good manners, refinement, or grace if it is, in fact, not the clever work of a deviously disguised satirist.
-
You seem to be taking this very personally. Serious question, do you work at Bungie?
-
Answer to your question: I've never worked for any developer. I've worked in the technology industry however. And as for the personal comment? You should know better then to presume what anyone takes personally or not. I'm simply enjoying telling the young kid over their with their own broadway production company apparently they have a lot to learn about being smarter then the common person who couldn't get a bachelors or Associates degree from college and combine that with experience in a given field...
-
And as for the personal comment? You should know better then to presume what anyone takes personally or not.
Yet you went on a wall of text claming the OP was doing this. Practice what you preach...
-
Pick your words carefully. That is not a wall of text in my post. I purposely broke it up so it wouldn't be a wall of text. Claiming the OP was doing this? You clearly need to rethink what you are trying to say. The OP makes a comment by comment description of it. I purposely took that tone and matched it against one of seasoned experience. I am not here to make you or anyone feel good about themselves. You need to do that for yourself and no one else which, yes, is what I am reading about anyone who is foolish enough to think the OP has ANY positive feedback given. Quit being a sheep, read the post and it's choice of words which not ONCE highlights they want a positive game experience and then come back to debate me.
-
Serious question, does he/she always call people kiddo? Gives the "adult" answer a derogatory tone. "Hey kiddo, when I was a young one we used to have to walk to the gamestop to get our games, kiddo, battling harsh winters and walking in four feet deep snow, kiddo."
-
I always refer to people as kiddo. Yes. Some take it with a grin, others take it with a frown. The aim is to get people to realize that acting an age range however, is not going to help their situations. They need to be smarter then that age range.
-
If you think most of the most obnoxious posts here are all being written by young people, think again. Kids are not necessarily dumb or less versed, especially in the gaming department. I've enjoyed playing with younger gamers far more than many know-it-all-adults with less than fun or pleasant attitudes and poor skills. I get you're not doing it to sound superior, but not a fan of compartmentalizing people into any groups or generalizing about them.
-
If you think most of the most obnoxious posts here are all being written by young people, think again.
Experience would dictate otherwise. Another point is experience is fulfilled potential. Potential is all young people have. So no. Your personal views of posts and quality of those posts is not going to help your argument here. Young people have consistently shown they would rather be rebels then learn from their more experienced counterparts on these forums and as my name indicates with the 7 years next to it? I've actually proven that test of time to be more considerable then the person with a 2 or 3 next to them just as a baseline. The other application here? Is I pick my words very carefully and know where the positive/negative is at. Why do you think posts like this and the "negative nancies" as I call them type of the posts in a 24 hours period here are people who are just looking for that attention? Sorry, but I call people out until they clarify that stance. Not assume willy nilly about people who don't mean anything to me because they choose to be cowards on a forum versus real life because let's be clear: I'm only an asshole for saying this stuff in real life and clarifying that I want feedback, but bitching about something and no feedback? You're not worthy of my time and everyone elses at that point. That's the line crossed here and I'm not angry one tiny bit because they don't mean anything to anyone. Don't try and pretend people's emotional insecurities is a positive. I've watched for two generations how that molds into people's personalities and forces failure time and again with someone else being impacted every time for said laziness based failure.

I agree with you 100%, well said!

Man you must be old. ;[ Hey, it's all good, keep doing your thing if it makes you happy.
