TL;DR:
Plays beta. Compares it to a full release game. Complains that beta works like beta. Nothing to see here.

I garuntee you we played 90 percent of what Destiny 2 gameplay will be.
I garuntee you we played 90 percent of what Destiny 2 gameplay will be.
Look out now. I don't like it when people garunta me.

Thanks. I don't mind reading long posts but unparagraphed walls of text like these are horrible

We have to give feedback though, otherwise they wouldn't know what to fix. Though in this particular instance they've already "fixed" things because the beta isn't the most recent build. So nvm ignore me I guess
-
I'm not sure why this community is under the assumption that the beta test is for consumer feedback. It isn't. It's a stress test for their network. Nothing in the beta is balanced. It's a stripped down demo of mechanical gameplay and that's it.
-
Have you even read the latest news updates
-
Yep. They fixed a few things. But that still isn't the purpose of the beta. lol Feedback is always secondary to technical issues.
-
It doesn't matter if it's secondary, primary, or tertiary, feedback is still welcomed and needed. Don't try to say they released a build and didn't want feedback. The main purpose may have been for technical issues however they also wanted to see if the feedback we gave matched the feedback they gave themselves. Which according to them, it does
-
And you assume that they browse these forums for gameplay feedback? No no no. I'm pretty sure they do what most devs do and use a beta team to test certain mechanical aspects but they do not sift through the troves of consumer criticism on bnet. They've already said they don't do that. lol

Developers use the "label" beta for broken or lack of adequate support. Minor tweaks can be made, but look at it like this: You blast off in a rocket ship, headed for the planet Jupiter. About halfway to Jupiter, you realize this was a terrible decision. Too late, your way past the point of no return. For what its worth, I wouldn't put too much faith in the full release being any better.
-
lol That's a "glass half empty/glass half full" opinion. I'm for the half full glass. I don't doubt that the full release will be better. More content automatically makes it better than the beta. Will it supply months worth of fun? Who knows. Maybe.
-
Not really. The point I'm trying to make is once software gets so far into development; engineers and designers have a line where it's all or nothing once the line is crossed. Sure, more content adds to the "wow" factor. But let's be honest, sales figures never lie. You can find more comprehensive data on the below results I've provided: D1 pre-order sales figures 1.7million copies (7 weeks prior to full release) D2 pre-order sales figures 250k copies (12 weeks prior to full release) Essentially, D2 has to sell roughly 141,000 per week to compare with D1. This is a telltale sign that the game will not do well after deployment. Again, sales figures never lie.

Uh that's real neat and all but it doesn't change my opinion that the full game will be better than the beta. lol I never said anything about a comparison to Destiny 1. I don't care if it sells more or less.
