Whats the point of the Linear Fusion Rifle?
I can not for the life of me figure out the point of the linear fusion rifle. In pvp its not a one shot kill, Like all power weapons are supposedly supposed to be, unless its a headshot which just makes it a shitty sniper I have to charge before I shoot. And I see even less point in pve, I cannot imagine using this on any boss or any add ever over any other "power weapon" including the garbage grenade launcher that for some reason in pve can shoot quickly repeatedly but in pvp its like I have to reload my shotgun mag before I can fire the next grenade again... Linear fusion rifles, and grenade launchers are utterly useless trash.

They suck as much as the grenade launcher. Worthless in their current states. Shotgun = OHK Fusion Rifle = OHK Rocket Launcher = it works but you only get one shot and don't expect a blast radius. Linear Fusion Rifle = straight turd-worthy Grenade Launcher = straight turd-worthy

All it really needs is a faster charge time. Other than that, it's fine in pvp.

I love it! But people have their own opinions and you have yours. I find it helpful though, was able to get 3 headshot kills at Market during countdown to help me win a game. If your not good with snipers then a linear fusion is perfect replacement. A sniper isn't a one shot to the body either.

It's actually similar to an idea I had for a coilgun, seen here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/217511361 A few other ideas also appeared in the game, though not necessarily because of me.

5 RepliesIt's a more generalist version of a sniper rifle. Like sniping, it's most effective at long ranges, but unlike snipers it can still do damage up close. It's why I love Queenbreaker's Bow in pvp.

None of the power weapons feel particularly powerful or fun to use in pve. I put four sniper rounds into that Minotaur at the conflux in the strike. It took two rounds to bring down his shield, and after two additional crits it was still standing. [b]....and this is a red bar level enemy!!!![/b]

5 RepliesThey need buffing so bad. I've suggested in a post that they should be OHK on hit anywhere with only 4 rounds on ammo pick up in PvP. Massive boost for damage in PvE!

I was wondering that too. It's a charge up sniper rifle, when we already have sniper rifles. If they made linear fusion rifles primaries, tho, id be all for it.
