Am I the only one who understands the Destiny 2 Beta is...
Only an old beta build which is not even close to the finished product and other people are too thick to understand the point of a beta and/or read the latest updates by the devs?

The fact that it's an old build is even worse - Bungie's not just ignoring player feedback and lying - they're also incompetent. Releasing an incredibly old build that poorly reflects the final release is idiotic. They make all these claims, then fail to showcase any proof of it.

No. and it being an old build doesn't mean much. the beta excuse can be used for things that can be adjusted on a numerical scale. like TTK, cooldowns, AA values etc. The beta excuse doesn't work for things like what the hunters dodge is, the way the new weapon system looks, the way adds are structured etc. So if you're saying "it's a beta" in response to the former that's accurate. However if this thread is aimed at the latter then that doesn't work.

You misunderstand. Yes. This is a Beta and it is, apparently, an "old build". That much no one will really argue. What you seem to be misunderstanding/ignoring is the one simple fact that the Beta is an example of the bare bones of the final game. This Beta is, like it or no, the very basis of what we will get. The only thing they will do now are "tweaks" to try and address what problems they observed or the community found. This means that any fixes will be minor and from what most of us have seen? Minor fixes will not correct the real issues in a satisfactory manner.

6 Repliesit's a beta, yeah, but it's basically what you're going to get when it releases with minor tweaks to stats, like damage, maybe move speed, drop frequency, etc. the actual Bones of the game won't change at all bro. if you think that you don't understand Betas at all that are released this close to the actual product release date. what the he'll would be the point if releasing a beta that is fundamentally different than the actual game? lol they feel comfortable that what they are releasing is a close enough approximation of the final product to get some public feedback and stress test the network software. So, the major issues people aren't happy with like the awful weapon reorganization and the lackluster abilities are here to stay

3 RepliesYour aren't the only one. The millions of people who are keeping their preorder know. People are just dumb and don't understand how game production works. Lately most "Betas" have actually been glorified demos. This is an actual beta and people don't understand the difference.

They even said that the beta was a pretty fair representation of the final game. They're done with the game already, they're just in bug fix mode. Every bit of constructive feedback can only be good.

I don't understand how people think a Beta is just them putting out what they have done with the game so far. They have obviously just restricted it down to just enough for us to get a taste of what the game will be like. It would be completely idiotic of a company to release what they've done with their game 2 months early and call it a beta. They might as well just launch the game and make the rest DLC. That's definitely not what they did in D1, right?

With less than 6 weeks to launch do you really see that much changing. Its sheep like you that take everything bungie tells you as gospel why games get released unfinished and ye lap it up without any criticism at all ye just bend over and take like an altar boy.

It seems like a lot of people are super mad about cooldowns and stuff that'll be fixed in the release version. They forget what the beta is for and is.
