So I don't know if this was just implemented or if people have experienced it. I've spent time just messing around the start of the strike, but I saw a new "silent event" for the first time tonight. It was Fallen flying in and battling the Cabal. It was pretty fun and there were multiple new fallen enemy types to engage in battle.
A couple things. The silent events are pretty cool. It was fun fighting the Fallen again and holy schnikes the Fallen have all the heavy ammo.
Literally every yellow bar I killed dropped a power brick. I know Bungie had stated that they're going to have power ammo be a guaranteed drop from certain enemies and I assumed yellow bars, but in action it worked pretty well and I'm curious who else has encountered this.

Every orange bar enemy drops power ammo. The minotaur when you scan the conflux, the pairs of hobgoblins in the man cannon puzzle, and the orange bars when the enemy moves against each other.
-
I noticed the vex goblins by the portals dropped power every time. Got max ammo with 5 bricks to pick up still.
-
Did you jump on top of the fallen ship from the Spawn point and dance for old times sake........... I dropped a bubble on it in one strike lol 😄........ Your right but kill a bunch of yellow bars at the start gives you all the power ammo you need for the rest of the strike.

Edited by madbeef: 7/22/2017 7:22:29 AMYep, noticed this too. First time I did the strike, everyone else buggered off whilst I fought these guys at the start. You just drop down to the right. Cabal and Fallen ultras. Spawn forever and ever. Kill them and purple bricks rain baby! Edit: also, you can take pikes through the jump gates. There's some secret jump gates that take you round in a loop too. Couple of ultra hobgoblins in front of them. Killing them activates it.

I find the new fallens' color scheme interesting mainly because it is purple and gold, same as the queens guard.....so it really makes me wonder why they have that coloration....
-
I had some drp on almost every yellow bar i killed
-
Found that one out too. Unfortunately the team I was with moved on without me and I think one though I was not going to help because they left. I was on my way to them with full heavy. Oh well.
-
Yea noticed the same at that "enemies moving against each other" type event. I had like unlimited grenade rounds during the battles over there
-
I noticed this the other night too. It was kinda fun with all the action, and purples were dropping quite frequently. IMO, this is almost the rate at which power needs to drop, almost as frequently as other ammo if we're going to have 2 primaries and choose between rockets/shotty/sniper with weak abilities and essentially one grenade per mob encounter...
-
First time I ran the strike I took a right at the beginning and started fighting all these yellow bar fallen by myself and got completely wasted. I took a few out first and almost all dropped purple bricks. Then I started reading about people saying there is hardly any purples dropping in the strike. I thought, well, I guess they went straight. There is a lot of cool stuff to find if you travel off the beaten path.

There are that many spawn in off to the right it's actually a little harder than the strike
-
Yeah, I know. I had more Power ammo than other types!
-
Fight through them and you get to a tree with a Vex portal(on the left hand side). If you pass that, there's a Lost Sector emblem on one of the structures. Also, if you head off in the direction you're supposed to from the start, on the right there's sometimes Fallen or Vex majors, kill them and a different Vex portal appears.....goid luck getting your strike buddies to not -blam!- off and finish the strike for the sweet sweet loot that they get to keep!
-
a lost sector isnt far from there
-
That change hasn't been added to the Beta...

Edited by RPColten: 7/22/2017 8:07:35 PMSounds and looks like this
...For example, we too felt that ammo (especially power ammo) was too scarce in PvE. In addition to retuning the drop rates, we built a system that guarantees power ammo drops for you and your Fireteam from certain enemies...
: From the July 20th weekly-update about the current dev-build. Looks a bit messy with that many bricks. I doubt it's final.

Irregardless of the other putz heads whining, thanks for the heads-up. I never saw that when I've done the strike, now to go check it out :)
-
Yea that silent event was there the first time I did the strike. Thought it was part of the strike wasn't sure if it was a glitch or what because it just kept dropping fallen 3 of us just shooting at everything for about 30 minutes. Then one guy was like "guys I don't think this is part of the mission let's just move on".
-
Hey look, sols uploaded another video that is TOTALLY NEW content that hasn't been out for days already....
I'm being sarcastic, this guy sucks
-
That's happened to me every time I encounter it. I think they made enemies in public events drop heavy like crazy to help us deal with it
-
whaaaaaaaaaat
-
At the start of the strike? This is more like the 'enemy is moving against each other' public event. Fallen vs Cabal. Flashpoints are going to be something new allegedly. Patrol events that drop high level loot. But yeah the Cabal and Fallen majors do seem to drop a lot of power ammo.
-
They're not yellow bars. They're orange now and they've always been called majors.
