Inferno = Necrochasm?

After reading through the Exotic Weapon Grimoire Cards, I saw that the card for Necrochasm states "That a lost Guardian’s weapon was altered by the Hive in an attempt to fuse their own dark understanding with humanity’s mastery of war." Rezyl Azzir had an Auto Rifle called Inferno, which he threw away on the Moon after it ran out of ammo. So could Necrochasm be Inferno, corrupted by the Hive, much like Azzir's Rose was corrupted and became Thorn?

  • I find it highly unlikely, as the Husk of the Pit was dated to have been made after the Great Disaster, whereas Rezyl Azzir's encounter with the Hive occurred in the late Dark Age/Early City age, and is possibly the first contact mankind had with the Hive.

    • That's a good theory. Necrogasm is one of my favourite weapons so I hope we find out more in D2 (and hopefully necro makes a comeback!)

      • The Hive took it and added more magazines to it. I never run out of ammo with the Necro.
