Life? Yes. Intelligent life? No. Advanced life i.e. animals similar to dogs or birds or reptiles? No. Simple life such as microscopic organisms and bacteria and such? Yes.
I believe we as humans are extremely unique the universe much like our Earth is very unique to places in just the right spot in our solar system, so on and so forth.
It does make for fascinating discussion though. The contemplation of the vastness of space. Our minds really cannot comprehend such immense distances and the other realities of the universe as we know it.

Here's another potential, which is that we are, in fact, not the only intelligent form of life, but are blindering ourselves to the potential of other planets/lifeforms. We look for Earth-like planets, and anthropomorphic life. What's to say that something like Venus could give rise to intelligent silicon-based life that resembles living boulders? Or that some distant planet has sentient whale/aquatic forms?
