There's actually theories that we are the most advanced species, considering how "young" the universe is.

I mean, there's about a 9 billion year gap between the big bang and the formation of the Earth, so others most likely had a head start.

Consider that stars had to form first, then they had to die to create enough materials for planets and other objects to form, and then how long it can take for life to spark, and then develop.

Our star and our planet are far from the oldest.
