As a child, what did you think would be a big deal and/or a problem in the world/every day life?
For instance, I thought quicksand was a big thing! Turns out, it's not that common to find quicksand in every day life...
I was terrified thinking that one day, as an adult and on my own, I would stumble into quicksand and die.
What say you?

Nice to see some people are still on here a few years later.
-
I still consider myself a kid (16 y.o.) and my biggest fear for the future is just me never taking action on anything. Just waiting around for something good to happen to me. I really hope I never fall into that but it's something I stress about a bit.
-
Working a technical job. As a kid I thought it would be scary to work one because I didn't want to fired for messing up. Now it's all I want to work.
-
When I was a kid I thought teachers never leave the school, my surprise when I saw my first grade teacher at the supermarket coming up to say hello to me and my mom.
-
Getting pregnant spontaneously. So inconvenient.
-
Never really thought about the future too much.
-
I just thought all adults get along, are always friendly and polite to each other, and only children fight and are mean to each other.

Well you could just use quicksand as a metaphor in your adult life. There ya go, just trying to help ya keep that childhood fear permeating into your adult life.

Ghosts. Turns out they're not real.

I am just worried I am going to fail
-
I honest-to-god thought that I'd have to beat up groups of 5/6 people on my morning commute.
-
As a kid, I'm scared of failure as an adult.
-
Personally as a child, I'm afraid of the imminent failure so likely awaiting me in the future at the que of the easiest and most subtle mistake, just because someone else didn't make it.

I thought that being 20 was really old. I realize now how young you actually are and that there's a lot left in life.

Tell the one about the time you and your best friend John went to the Salt & Pepper Diner next.

Until I was probably 8 years old, I thought people who were dressed up really nice were going to church. So I got freaked out because there were a lot of people wearing nice clothes on days other than Sunday and I didn't wanna go to church any other time.
-
I figured the whole world would be at each other's throats by the time I got to be my dad's age, when I was a kid. Turns out it didn't really take that long for that to happen.
-
Always afraid of being buried alive. Still can happen to me but is less likely.

Edited by EL: 7/14/2017 3:32:21 PMWhen i was a kid i would tag along with my mom to do errands, you know paying bills, grocery shopping, fixing the car, and would wonder how i would be able to sustain a family or just myself. It was dumb to worry then. I absorbed a lot so living on my own was a natural transition. These days i look forward to diy methods to continue learning and care for my mom.

Drunk people. I have become everything I used to fear
-
Being alone. My father left me when I was a kid and my mother worked two jobs so I was alone a lot of the time. I had constant nightmares as a kid and hated being alone. My biggest fear as a kid was thinking I'd be the same when I grew up. Now I've grown up, still alone. But I'm alright with it, I enjoy the quiet, most people are shit and betray you anyways.
