Ever since Blizzard authentication came out, there have been users losing their previous Bungie profile, because they logged in first using Blizzard authentication, creating a new Bungie profile, then logged into their current PSN/GT effectively losing their old Bungie account and rewards.
Access to items that are granted from single use Bungie.net codes will be lost if players unlink their PSN ID, Xbox Live Gamertag, or Blizzard BattleTag from their Bungie.net profile. If a player loses access to these licenses in this manner, the items granted will persist in their Character Inventory, but will not be usable.
Make sure if you're going to link another platform authentication, go to your current Bungie profile and do it from there.
Once an account has no authentication to log in, it's GONE FOREVER.
This is important for all Destiny players to note.

47 RepliesWe are looking into improving this process. In the meantime make sure you are logged into your original account before linking a new account in settings.

1 ReplyThis happened to me yesterday and my bungie.net profile was reset :( All I really care about is regaining the little tab that says how long I've been a member here. It thinks I'm brand new.

Edited by Grips: 7/13/2017 8:59:07 PMOuf Im glad I went to settings first. I cant imagine losing this +12 year account...

2 RepliesI must be out of the loop. Why is blizzard effecting bungie accounts? And what sort of player does this affect?
-
6 RepliesSuch IT problems should just not be possible! All those providers and enterprises shit on their customers, by implementing IT solutions that are inflexible and not thourogly tested. I had bought a The Division code and my daughter was loged into the PS4. I didn't recognize that, went to the store and entered the code. Since my daughter is 17 neither she nor I can play the game! Her is a subaccount of mine, but I can't access the content I bought. What did the support at PSN do!? NOTHING They just told me they can't do anything about it! gfy Sony and Blizzard etc!

4 RepliesBut why? Why do I want to link my Blizzard account? Why do I want to take the time? There is no PC release or beta anytime soon. What good will it do now to link these damn things?
-
Seems like the process is as good as D2 is going to be.
-
Hahaha more great stuff from bungie
-
I guess I'll hold up on linking my blizzard account for now.
-
68 RepliesI don't know why anybody would switch to a PC but yea bump so those who do are aware.

I don't get how people are having trouble with this, hardest part was remembering my blizzard password.

Bungie, where it's always amateur hour...

22 RepliesIf you have a substantial Account with Blizzard do not infect it with bungess BS please, leave your acct as it has been! Anything involved with Bungee is a nightmare! This is why Bungee does so many charities they choose to give back to complete strangers then those who have played/grinned/put thousands of hours into this game.
-
2 RepliesI've been gone for a while, but when did you switch from being a troll to helpful?

5 RepliesYou'd think Bungie would upgrade this archaic system at some point in time.
-
Yep, the same thing happened to me when I linked my PSN to my existing GT that I have had since Xbox live came out ... I had been linked to Bungie.net since it was first possible. I lost everything ...
-
2 RepliesYeah, I will be playing Destiny 2 on both PC and Console, good thing I saw the video Datto uploaded to YouTube before I started linking accounts.
