Anyone have any idea why snake represents Hunter, eagle Warlock, and lion titan? Did this just come out of nowhere or is there some lore to explain this?

4 RepliesSnake = stealthy. Hunters are stealthy. Eagle = flying. Warlocks can floof. Lion = strong. Titans like smashing.

Because animals kill for food, not sport.

7 RepliesAnimals have been used as symbols for as long as humanity has existed. In every culture and civilization, an animal represented something. The lion is a symbol of strength and nobility. Titans are the strongest of the classes and contain very noble traits. Thus a Titan is represented by a lion. The Phoenix is a symbol of power and renewal. While Not the strongest, Warlocks are the most powerful in abilities and knowledge. As shown in the lore of many Warlocks, they tend to become a different person altogether as they become wiser. Thus a Warlock is represented by a Phoenix. The snake in most cultures represents the complete opposite of what most people think. While they do at times represent the primal instinct of all life, they are generally representative of fertility and transformation. Hunters are the most diverse class compared to the others. You have outlaws, explorers, soldiers, and so on. However, the most logical is their longing for the wilds and letting instinct take over logical thinking in most combat scenarios. Thus the Hunter is represented by a snake.

I'ma sneaky sneaky snake

6 RepliesIt's pretty self explanatory. Snake is a pure hunter, stealthy. Eagle is regal, noble and wise. Lion is strength and power. This is nothing new.
-
5 RepliesBecause Lions and Eagles eat snakes.

Snakes are associated with deceit and cunning. Lions are associated with strength and dominion. Eagles are associated with power and wisdom.
Anyone have any idea why snake represents Hunter, eagle Warlock, and lion titan? Did this just come out of nowhere or is there some lore to explain this?
Snake- stealth and agile (T) Eagle - keen an intelligent (W) Lion - Powerful an indomitable (H)

Because certain classes eat them.
-
1 ReplyMight as well use them Error Code Animals for something, right?!
-
2 RepliesBecause hunters are snakes that can't be trusted. Warlocks are eagles soaring above you on the scoreboard. And titans are lions that need other lions to be of any worth.

Bungievision is waiting until they can make money out of a Megazord dlc. Mark. My. Words.

Us Titan are, indeed the bravest, nay the best and a lion best describes that

I get where your coming from but Its more like a loose connection relating to nature. For example the Iron Lords compared themselves to a wolf pack and so they have allot of that kind of iconography. So with that in mind, based on the new sub classes we saw in the reveal trailer... Hunter : Fluid movement striking out with a staff = a snakes fluid movement then coiling to unleash a pinpoint strike. Warlock : Floating through the air on fiery wings throwing down swords = a flaming eagle plummeting down to strike with its talons bared. Titan : (may be clutching at straws with this one) Charging forward with a shield energy emitting in front of you = The energy pealing off the shield could be compared to a lions main flowing behind it. All down to my own perception but that is the way i would look at it. And there is a long history of animal associations in the military... "The Screaming Eagles" "Tiger Division" "The Beavers" "The Bengal Tigers" "The Desert Rats" ......

1 ReplyI don't know if the Lion and Phoenix appeared in D1 to represent the Titan and Warlock respectively, I do know that the Snake was in D1, on the Cloak of Ikaheka. The cloak's description says the snake "represents the lethality of a true hunter."

Edited by Tyger Strayfire: 7/11/2017 6:10:48 AMI'm curious if we'll be given more variety of starting class emblems in terms of animal motifs. In Destiny 1, each class of Guardian can gain access to three common emblems near the beginning. For example, the Hunters can get the Aspect of Blood, the Aspect of Dust, and the Aspect of Shadow. Perhaps there's a slight possibility that we will have something similar. Like if a Hunter could also have a coyote emblem, a deer emblem, or even a tiger emblem. (personally though, I think a tiger emblem would be best for all three classes).

Either just because Banjo wanted to do it or we'll find out September 6th

Thats an Osprey for Warlocks because Bungie likes Seattle Seahawks.

3 RepliesEdited by Seldser: 7/10/2017 1:27:59 PMMy issue is that the eagle and snake should be swapped. In many cultures serpents are seen as an icon of wisdom and knowledge while eagles are agile predators who strike their opponents when they are least expected. I understand snakes can be seen the same way, but if they take this direction, why not make the warlock logo feature an owl instead?
