This time last year I was anxiously preparing to marry my best friend and soulmate on July 23, 2016. I would never have met him, had it not been for Bungie, for Destiny.
I have been with Bungie from the start. I fell in love with FPS with Halo 1, endlessly practicing my snipe skills. I fell in love with Swat, once Halo 3 dropped. Halo Reach came along and I played as much as I could then too.
I came across Destiny in Year 1, on my Easter Vacation at our beach house on Topsail Island. I had brought my work along with me, determined not to get behind during the week I was away from my job. I also brought my xbox, since it had been so long since I had really played any games.. I downloaded the free version of Destiny, after seeing it was made by Bungie. And I fell in love with Destiny immediately. I didn't touch my work again the rest of the week. I didn't even make it to the beach right outside the door! I played as far as the demo would let me, and then I bought the game.
Summer 2015, I played whenever I could, determined to 'git gud.' I discovered the forums, always lurking but rarely making a post. Trials dropped and I finally started to use lfg... Trials of Osiris is where I met my best friend and husband.
We played nonstop for that first day. The next day, he spammed me with game invites to play VoG, and I beat a raid for the first time! We were all furious with each other by the end... but it was so fun! We exchanged contact info, and he went back to work offshore. By then though, we were already infatuated with each other. We stayed on the phone.. and after 2 weeks, he went back home and Destiny became life all over again, playing as much as possible during the week he was home.
We finally met in October 2015. He flew up from Louisiana to North Carolina, bringing his xbox of course, and stayed with me during his week off. I flew down to meet his family for my birthday, December 6th... I drove 16hrs to pick him up for Christmas, and drove back 16hrs to drop him back off for work. In the end though, he came back to NC with me for good!
We got married last July, had a beautiful baby boy on December 8th 2016, and then moved to Louisiana this past January. It has truly been a roller coaster, blessed by god.
That's my story, Bungie. Happy Bungie Day, and thank you for putting Willowshot7 in my life! :)
Also, his birthday was yesterday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO WILLOWSHOT7!

I met my wife in college, when she was interested in a card game that I was playing with friends called Magic: the Gathering. Ironically, I'm sharing my 9th wedding anniversary with her tomorrow. 😎😁

Edited by Cayde: 7/8/2017 2:39:58 PMI hate to be that guy, but here is a very important reminder: The case presented by the OP, despite its sense of often occurrence, is a very uncommon exception. DO NOT exchange personal information with anyone you meet online unless you know them very well and know that you can trust them with such information. I have heard countless stories--both on the Internet and unfortunately from a few people I used to know as well--about a person meeting another player online and playing with them nonstop for months, giving the impression that they're close friends, only to find their identity stolen or personal information misused or spread across the Internet when they gave something as simple as a phone number to the other person. For your own safety and personal security, DO NOT trust anyone on the Internet with personal information and regard them as close friends/companions unless you know FOR SURE that they are responsible or trustworthy with your information, or KNOW that they truly are your friend. That is all I have to say. Congratulations, though. I hope the bonds made through your marriage last well beyond the grave.

Edited by DedCanDance: 7/9/2017 6:34:10 PMThis is awesome. I love hearing about things like this. It seems to wash away so much of the negativity that plagues these forums when I read about life changing moments that this company has provided for people. From the Fate of all fools to people finding love, THIS is why I love this game. Edit: congrats to you guys!

Congratulations!

Congrats! All I ever get is spam from "female" hunter guardians who want me to go into their van for free candy.
There was no candy, only shame and regret. Doesn't taste like candy, tastes more like burning.
