Cell death causes skin shedding, not the other way around.

5 RepliesI hate to break it to you but those skin cells were dead long before they were shed - in fact they were dead for days before they sloughed off. Given that hair is also just dead cells the only part of a person that is actually alive when you look at them is the eyeballs.
-
4 RepliesFun fact: There is a misconception that when people die, their hair and nails continue to grow. What is actually happening, is that the skin of the corpse is drying out, and shrinking. Without the circulatory system distributing moisture, the skin becomes very thin and recedes. When the skin recedes in this way, the hair and nails are pushed out slightly. This phenomena, along with the akin pulling back causing more of the hair and nails to become exposed, creates the illusion that the hair and nails have grown.

Heh. Good joke.

As I am a human I must say I am a hive of cells working together for survival. We know when to die and give birth to keep perfect balance. We remember our dead cells through the nail on our fingers and toes to our hairs all over our body. It is when the cells of our brain dies we have a funeral for all of our cells who will seal their fate sadly.

I tried not shedding skin and now I look like a zombie.
