What if they only showed you 5% of the ingredients (given we know about 5% of D2), then could you make an educated guess?

Absolutely, if I hate 5 percent of it. I hate tomatoes. Cannot eat them or I gag my brains out. This includes pizza and ketchup. No amount of anything will get me to suddenly like it. I think the general hate around this is Bungie has a habit of getting us hyped only to give us something meh. Not to say destiny wasn't fun at times but it wasn't what we were wanting. People are nervous it's just going to be more of the same.

I think we could argue that educated would mean you need more than 5% of a game to KNOW what the rest of the 95% is. But I digress. To me, people that always try and find the negative aspects in life, will always do that for everything... Like destiny. And those people like myself, will always try and find the good aspects in life. And people have the right to be nervous, but, spewing hate as fact is what I was trying to target.
