this is actually calmer than it was around this time in destiny 1... hopefully that trend will continue and internet hate mongers won't go around the whole of the internet hunting destiny players to scream at and insult them for a year to a year and a half again... that being said, if you think this is bad better buckle up... the beta will only make things worse. Unless a bungie employee personally comes to every players house and hands them a suit case stuff to bursting with money and then acts as their personal servant for the rest of their lives for playing the beta people will start getting pitch forks and torches and start trying organize marches on bungie's offices... wait and see, its happened before (halo reach *cough*). also on a side note... that is a really bad analogy, you CAN in fact tell how something is going to taste by reading ingrediants... if someone said "this dish has beef cheese and potatoes" you can tell EXACTLY what its going to taste like, its going to taste like beef cheese and potatoes... really really bad analogy.

  • Also, what spices are on the beef? , what type of cheese?, how did they cook the potatoes? etc etc So no, you cannot know exactly how a dish will taste, until you try it. You might know what potatoes taste like by itself, but when put in a stew? The flavor profile expands.

man, im on your side in believing people need to calm down and wait till they play it. but i still think that analogy is not the best. but we more or less know what the game itself will be, not what is in it per say but we know the basics thanks to it being built off destiny 1. It will probably play similarly, all of bungie's shooters so far have a certain feel to them so we more or less know that. We sorta know the RPG-ish mechanics of it, seeing as how they've been shown and are only slightly different. We sorta know how exploration is going to play (as in how it will be done by the player), at least as far as it being open world and not having to zone to orbit over and over again and there will be side missions, and hidden areas, etc.We also know the world it will exist in because its the world of destiny the cabal, the fallen, the vex, hive, taken and guardians and how they operate from a lore standpoint. We also know at least partly how weapons will be handled thanks to announcements. Saying we know nothing is far from accurate, but we do not know everything (i would say hardly anything but the exact amount we are aware of currently can't be determined until we've had our hands on the game). People who are hating everything out of the gate are nothing new, the problem is they need to stop complaining to see if it WORKS. Its not that they don't know what the stuff is its that they forget that this is not destiny 1, its a new game meaning its built around these systems. They won't know if the new systems work well without having seen them. Which is why the food analogy is not a good one, because looking at the ingredients you can approximate fairly accurately how food will taste. With destiny 2 its not so much we don't know what it'll "taste" like, we kind of do already seeing as its destiny "2". What we don't know is how the new will work with the old. People are going off the deep end about the new though, they need to calm down and wait and see.

  • I was referring to, ingredients that you've never had. So you have no basis upon which to judge.
