The D2 hate is getting real....
But, to those of you who haven't played it yet.... (majority of you) I ask you this.....
You cannot read the ingredients to a meal and know what it tastes like until you try the meal, now can you?
Edit: I have seen a lot of these answers: "If one of the ingredients is a turd, I know it will taste bad" BUT, in what world is a turd ever considered an ingredient? Not sure where you guys are from, but, no meal, in the history of ever, has ever included turd on the menu. Plus, nothing a little sweet baby ray's bbq sauce cant fix! lol
Also, this post: " If you mix nasty ingredient A, with disgusting ingredient B, you know that will probably taste bad" That's a fair point, but what if you had never had any of the ingredients? How the heck would you know if it tastes good or bad? That's ultimately what I was stating. We aren't talking about ingredients you HAVE had, we are talking about ingredients you have NEVER had.

Final edit: Let me elaborate on the subject: Since we have seen about 5-10% of D2, what if you only knew 5-10% of the ingredients, do you think you know what the finish product will taste like only knowing a fraction of the ingredients? The answer is no. No way you could possibly KNOW. Have a hunch sure, but no way you can know!
Either way, I have seen very few posts that resort to name calling childish accusations. So, thank you all for being a civil as you have been!

7 RepliesWell i hate tomatos and bitter mellon (if you dont know what it is, look it up). I wont like almost anything that has whole, diced, sliced, etc. tomatos as an ingredient. And I wont like anything cooked with bitter mellon will have the bitter taste permeate the meal so theres no way Id eat that. Your analogy a poor one man. The bottom line is a ton of ppl are upset (legitimately) because we asked for a pve-focused game and bungie instead remade the game oriented towards pvp/e-sports. Its like this: they can only have rwo of these three elements: power fantasy in pve, balance in pvp, and consistency between the two. Luke Smith already confirmed the two wont be separate so we know at that point bungie will have to choose pvp or pve, and the one not chosen will be consumed by the other, as has been the case the last 2 years. And Bungie has clearly chosen pvp. If you are a pve oriented player, this should worry you. If your a Pve player, this should be reason enough to not buy the game.

If the ingredients are all bad in other meals I don't know why someone wouldn't expect them to be bad in the same meal.

No, but you can look at the ingredients and decide if its something you want to eat. I hear monkey brains and cow testicles are good, it doesn't mean I cant decide they aren't something i want to try.

If on the side of that said box indicated it contains 35% of salt, 30% of acidic acid, 25% fat and the rest are just food fillers. I'm pretty sure I can already can guess what that stuff going to taste like.

English[/quote] Yes you can...If I read the ingredients and see if that it has coconut in it. Because I'm slightly allergic to coconuts I won't eat it. I can't stand anything with coconuts in it. So if I see something I really don't like in a game I won't buy it. OP your point is moot.

Watered down weapons with little diversity, no dedicated pvp servers (might be mistaken on that but doubt it), same stupid system where if something is slightly popular in pvp it gets nerfed to hell in pve, and an upcoming weapons system that doesn't make a whole lot of sense (seriously who's going to use a shotty or sniper now with power ammo being used for rockets and machine guns) and I'm seriously questioning if I want to continue this s#!tshow going forward.

I'm just waiting for the beta. If it pulls me in like the first game I will definitely be putting a lot of time into Destiny 2. If not I've got other games to play.

Eh, you kind of can. Just call me very skeptical. What kept Destiny 1 alive through the time in between dlc drops? PvP. So now they the community wants it their going to make d2 PvP "competitive". Sorry but PvP can't be competitive with no dedicated servers, ranked playlist and a 10 tick rate. So I'm looking forward to the pve because I think the PvP is just going to be the same frustersting bs (mind you i was a PvP player, went flawless almost 100 and stop playing about 6-8 months ago because I realize overwatch was a superior PvP experience) but the problem is with the Pve is that after 3 years there finally enough content and now we're getting rid of all of it and going to have a small game again. I'll probably play it for about a month on pc and get very bored of it because I'm not going to waste my time when the pve is going to be more of the same waste of time grind end game for basically minimal improvements and the PvP isn't competitive.

It does sound horrible from what we know so far....watered down subclasses, no random rolls(no reason to play), less dps output because weapon class changes, and no private or ranked playlist at launch. Not to mention Luke Smith said that they haven't even figured out a good reward system yet to replace the "god roll" grind we have now. You can't honestly say everything sounds wonderful, we have plenty of reasons to be concerned....as of now Destiny 2 sounds like a downgrade from Destiny 1, less fun!

They've told us what their plan is for Destiny moving forward by the changes they made and the changes they didn't make. I suggest you take them at their word and understand if Destiny 2 is a game you'd be interested in. I think it's going to suck ... I think it's going to be even worse than its predecessor and that's saying allot. Bungie is no longer the company that gave us Halo, Bungie is Activision light -- maximum profits, minimal content. I mean come on, they're even recycling emblems ... how lazy can one be? I'll play the beta and then cancel all of my preorders, I'm not expecting too much.

same goes for the fanboys liking it...you cant tell unless you play it...but in MY OPINION d2 sounds like a game for 6 year olds, the patrol lost sectors is only thing looking good and we haven't really seen anything on them, but with luke smith running his mouth about everything it all sounds like garbage and i will not eat garbage with that said i tend to not judge a game based off of others reviews but in this case its hard not too when smith makes everything sound like crap...its like an infomercial if i was selling a sequel to something and told my consumers that everything they love n know is gone and would be completely different would they like it? look at cod with each year that games becomes more garbage and its sales has shown
