To answer your question. We won't have access to the planets and zones from Destiny 1

Wasn't Pluto or Europa suppose to be an area? Perhaps now we'll get them. After two deserts and a rainforest. I'm down to seeing a snowy tundra (Rise of Iron is an exception). We are still on Earth. The new home is called, The Farm. I think the other planets/moons will be there, just a new area on them.

I would've expected Mars back, not Meridian bay but a different region of Mars, due to the cabal presence there. I'm sure the red legion and the legions on Mars would share data, technology and maybe even troops. There's also the fallen house of kings on Mars so I think they might get some action as well. As for the rest of the locations, I don't see the dreadnought returning unless it returns as a crucible map. The moon is still covered in hive and I doubt we've explored all of the hive fortresses like the hellmouth but I think the main threats have died down enough to give it a break, it may return further down the line. If Mars returns Venus should do as well, not Ishtar but another region, there's still a very strong vex presence and some of the cabal are technically still at war with them so it be interesting to see them invade Venus, plus I suppose the vex are due a comeback as they haven't had a DLC to themselves yet and haven't been a major threat since the vault of glass. Cosmodrome shouldn't return as we have the EDZ to replace it and I think we've done enough damage to everything that's ever visited there. I'm not saying this is what it will be, but it's what I think/predict will happen. Maybe the new locations will replace the old ones but I don't think we're quite finished with them. They might not return until DLC, which would be quite the bungie thing to do.

In the dlc's the moon and venus will return not sute about mars yet but when dlc drops you will notice the orbit map expande like in destiny 1 when dreadnought got introduced its just gonna keep getting bigger i think the reef may make a return but not as social space but to visit variks and hopefully seeing the queen was a warlock she self resurrected and get to see once more.
