Any tips for a new player?
edit: Okay, after a few days, I have something to say. You tribes who build massive forts on the beach. And you, person who gave up on their thatch hut 2/3rds of the way through. You guys are dicks. You can't f##king build anything unless you move inland or away from any valid food/resource supplies. If you're so high level you can build a massive fort, build it somewhere on your level. And you you've given up on your base and moved, break it down please.

Edited by B00ZE CLUEZ: 7/5/2017 6:34:29 PMYep.....official sucks because douchebags place pillars just to block players from buildimg and/or traveling. Really wish admins supervised that shit. Players like that need to be banned. Edit: you can play single player to avoid assholes, or host ur own dedicated server if you have another xbox or pc (when play anywhere gets released for ark). I had a big base on a european server but cockbag british -blam!-s started griefing.

1 ReplyStay on the beach Run away from everything (most things will kill you) Level up weight and movement speed (run faster and carry more while doing it) Watch a few youtubers for more tips and tricks to see how stuff works

2 RepliesHow I learned to survive Anything with scales and walks on 2 legs is a carnivore and will kill you Anything with scales and walks on 4 kegs is a herbivore and won't kill you There are a few exceptions to the rules above. Also I'm not sure if Dinos had scales. Anything with fur should be easily recognized as a carnivore for herbivore Birds are all carnivores, but only 2 are naturally hostile The ocean is death. Do not go in there. Bugs are your worst enemy
Any tips for a new player?
If u solo go pve, pvp will be hard unless ur 20 deep on ur tribe also put points into water food and stam I do 200 each because with the new update out you only get 1.2% per lvl for movement speed so you will be running a lot 38 fortitude is good ..also best bet for leveling is the industrial grinder I pin coded one so I could use it to level my other characters on different accounts, on a 1.5 or 2 x weekend u can get from lvl 1 to 75 in about 30 min ...maybe look for some tribe that has a doed and a grinder so u can lvl fast.

Nothing except XP really matters until you unlock stone structures and metal tools. Build a small, hidden stone house somewhere reasonably close to a mountain and go from there. Don't knock down the trees immediately next to your base-- keep them as a screen. Keeping a few spare huts with a bed, a base set of gear, and a small cache of resources will make raiding far less devastating. Purlovia (awful little badgers) set on passive can be buried as an undetectable item vault. Taming pens are far and away the easiest way to tame aggressive creatures. Set up some walls with a gate on it, put a ramp up one side, and lure your new pet in. Duck out the gate, shut it, and shoot with a slingshot/tranq bow until it's knocked out. Just keep it a reasonable distance from your base to stay safe, since they're pretty easy to spot.
