I've been looking into this game and it looks like something fun to break up the monotony while I wait for Destiny 2 and Battlefront 2 to release this fall. Any tips on what to do at the beginning of this game? I have Twitch Prime, so I'll be able to get Frost Prime, but which frame do you guys recommend picking first, and what are some of your favorites?

1 Reply1. Level up everything to at least 30 before discarding weapons and frames. Doing so will build your Mastery Experience and raise your Mastery Rank (MR) and allow you more trades, increased load outs, and access to MR locked items. 2. Get friendly. Find friends that play the game and play with them (preferably ones who can explain things to you). Join a clan too, as there's a plethora of weapons that you can only build if you have access to a clan dojo. 3. Don't beg, work. You'll soon be able to begin gaining prime weapons and frames which are improved variants of normal items. You're able to farm said prime items by obtaining relics and subsequently using them in specific missions. If you have parts and blueprints of prime or specific weapons and frames that you feel you don't need, you can sell them or trade with other players. Keep in mind however that Warframe is a free market system and any price can go, but nobody has to accept any offer. Learn prices of items and haggle with others in order to start growing your wealth.

1 ReplyEdited by Lordsa Jar-Jar: 7/5/2017 7:15:08 AMYeah, I got an early tip for you. Don't get into Warframe in the first place. The game is at the end of it's life cycle, you'll be wasting your time.

Don't go for normal frames, Prime frames are easier to get and way better.

If you have any questions I recommend joining the group "Warframe Tenno" everyone there is usually willing to answer any questions you have.

Out of the starter frames excal is the best and volt is really good to but i don't reccomend that you pick mag When you get plat make sure you spend it on slots, reactors and catalysts first. Make sure you get rhino from the venus boss because he is a really good tank

2 RepliesHonestly, I wouldn't bother. I've played for awhile, but now I've just hit a wall and can't seem to progress anymore.
-
2 RepliesI like and picked Volt. Excalibur from what I hear is powerful and balanced overall. Dont know much about Mag.

The standard braton can be a very viable early to mid-late game gun with enough forma and mods put in it. Ive put 5 forma in mine with a catalyst i can keep up with most others in a level 40 survival. Any of the starter frames are good, excal is very well balanced, mag is a briliant caster type frame and volt can be built as a beautuful glass cannon. Use the 50 plat you get at the start to buy weapon and frame slots. Also you must find a decent clan, fortunately its not too difficult to find one. For frames id recommend getting at least two of the starter frames at the beginnung to offer a variety of gameplay while not stepping outside any boundaries, as you get more advanced in the game id recommend getting Ash to introduce you to stealth frames while still having good damage capabilites, i would also recommed Mesa as she is an extremely good late game frame for advanced players. Finally try out Inaros and Nidus for some crowd control and tank frames. For weapons i'd recommend a sobek shotgun as its capable of high damage as well as a vaykor hek for late game content as well as the phage laser gun, for advanced players that gun can be beastly when modded correctly. Stick with a taxon sentinel. Thats all i have to say.

I don't play anymore but a tip would be to spend your initial platinum on slots for warframe and weapons

As tempting as it is, do not spend any money on it. You can pretty easily play through the first 100 hours without needing anything you could buy and it's actually beneficial to not outright buy the frame/weapon you want because you'll need to be constantly changing weapons and frames to level them up and increase your rank. After about 50-100 hours you'll know if you're done or not. Be warned: The level of reused and reskinned content in Destiny has NOTHING on Warframe.

Don't...

13 RepliesEdited by ReignofSpartain: 6/28/2017 10:27:33 PMIm on the same boat. I restarted a few weeks ago. It has improved greatly over what i had played a few years ago (uninstalled within a short time) I recently got Nidus and if there was ANY frame i would want to breeze through the star map, it is this guy. There are already fears of his inevitable nerf. He has a one that refunds your energy on kills!!! So spam for days!! He regenerates health passively! It does not stop. Adding his 4 makes you heal faster than a screen full of enemies can dish out. Self rez! Thats right. He can passively build stacks of "mutations" for free self rez. No mods? No MATTER! he is powerful without mods (like i had without). He doesnt need any shield mods (no shields) so you can focus on weapon modding! Anyone not saying nidus.. does not have one.

11 RepliesAnswer these questions: What range do you prefer to play at in normal shooter games? (Melee, short, medium, long, sniper) Do you prefer moving to avoid damage or blocking/absorbing damage Do you have 2 - 3 other people you can reliably play with the majority of the time (don't have to be the same 2 - 3 people). What kind of frame do you Want? (Anything from utility to Press-4-to-win to Damage buffer, and many more styles)

12 RepliesEdited by Upperclass Bum: 7/3/2017 5:22:22 PMJust get Excalibro. He's the well rounded frame and will give you a general idea of the game. As for my favorites; Saryn Prime Mesa (#MesaPrimeorRiot) Octavia Nidus Mag Prime Trinity Prime Nyx Prime As for weapons: - Primaries Soma Prime Sancti Tigris (MR12 locked) Tigris Prime (MR13 locked) Kohm Dex Sybaris Sybaris Prime Vaykor Hek (MR12) Synoid Simulor (MR12) Hema Sobek Ferrox Tenora Amprex Dread Mutalist Cernos Ignis Wraith - Secondaries Lex Prime Vaykor Marelok Pox Sonicor Twin Kohmak Dual Toxocyst Pandero Euphona Prime Mara Detron Hikou Prime - Melee Atterax Lesion Silva & Aegis Prime Galatine Prime (and regular) Zenistar Venka Prime Hirudo Telos Boltace (still kind of good) War Twin Basolk Dark Dagger / Rakta Dark Dagger Nikana Prime Ohma Jat Kittag Gazal Machete Endura Caustacyst Broken War Orvious Prisma Obex Prisma Dual Prisma Cleavers Nikondi Lacera Ack & Brunt Secura Lecta As you can no doubt tell, I like melee weapons more... Anyhue, that's pretty much most of my favorite and / or recommend shite. Some of those frames and weapons you won't be able to get (immediately) for one reason or another - mr locked, vaulted prime frame / weapon, et cetera - I should also note that some of those things require a few investments in way of forma, mods or both in order for them to truly shine, while some of them require next to nothing and clean house regardless.
