Hard to enjoy playing PVP when the lag switching continues to plague it (see example). I hit this issue multiple matches tonight. Honestly I'm surprised there isn't an algorithm to autokick these kids by now. I mean if it's "connection based" (which was supposed to stop the red bars) couldn't there be a threshold to terminate their connection to the match? i.e. if the server sees a drop to red then boom, kicked? I'm reporting all the time but honestly not sure anything really happens. In a way I feel bad for these losers (they clearly need to cheat to win). But overall, dropping them from the match is more fair to all the others trying to enjoy the crucible. Eh?

8 RepliesExactly why I report EVERY redbar I see.
-
2 RepliesI am always red bar but I can't do anything about it because the connection is garbage but I want to play so badly! I apologize to anyone affected by my stupid Internet providers!!
-
5 RepliesI stream and I have better connection then like nearly all of the destiny community
-
2 RepliesLol. Lag switching. You realize that's not a thing on current gen right?
-
18 RepliesHey IM SORRY THAT I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN WITH TERRIBLE INTERNET
I do see your prospective though, and you should see mine. I'm paying $70 for 5 down 0.25 up. It's not my fault
Edited by StabbyOShanks: 6/26/2017 8:28:58 PMAs long as you have host and a rotating host, the quality of connection can change whenever. The real solution (albet expensive and one that would piss people off) is to group people based on their ping to their regional server. First you need regional servers though and then start ping grouping.

Sadly it isn't just red bars that lag that way but complain on ye with little knowledge of the scenario.
-
This post is AIDS.
-
-blam!-ing remove all red bars instantly please or nobody will buy d2
-
I forgot which developer did this but, any poor pings that did not meet a minimum criteria was not allowed to play at all. I think it was old school Quake or something. That needs to happen in D2.
-
3 RepliesSo anyone that lags is cheating. Anyone that may have sporatic internet problems should just be removed from the game, unable to play pretty much. Love the mindset of people who complain on the forums
-
5 Repliesthe cheaters can only cheat because the developers allow it cheating plagued halo 2 , it ruined the greatest shooter in the history of shooters yet in halo 3 their was practically no cheating, (even in a p2p system) so how is it that bungie was able to eliminate cheating WAYYYY back then, yet they somehow allow it now, or flat out just dont care? budget it is as simple as that, if they wanted to pay people to enforce, monitor and maintain this games pvp, like they did on halo 3, we would see no cheating yet they dont care, they are too busy trying to market and shove destiny 2 down our throat
-
2 Repliesred bars and cheaters are like "a drop of poop on a clear glass of water"... it turns the whole water in poop taste, and other games are more careful on this aspect to not get customers upset.
-
I kept slamming a bubble Titan and he took no damage.
-
This is destiny , you can have green bar laggers who have the same teleporting garbage . My pet hate about destiny and one that I will not continue with into destiny 2 if no improvement.
-
Sadly, the connection color means nothing. What matters is the speed and quality of your internet. There doesn't appear to be a set minimum connection speed required to play. I have a friend that had atrocious Internet, but was able to play. Majority of the time, he registered as a green bar. He upgraded shortly after that. I have fairly good internet, ranges from 100Mb/s down and 5Mb/s up to 240Mb/s down and 20Mb/s. Yet, I have been shown as a red bar a few times.

2 RepliesI love M&M'S!
-
3 RepliesNot lag switching. Sorry to say but the gamertag spanishricky gives it away as lag. You may say it's racist. I say internet connection isn't a race.
-
49 RepliesBungie doesn't care. The cheaters and laggers get rewarded instead of punished. It's disgusting.
-
I think it's just connection. I have games where I'll start off fantastic then something happens mid game.
-
2 RepliesI like how everyone swears they are being lagged switched. Plain and simple it's just very bad lag. Also the connection bar isn't an accurate source. As I can go from green to yellow to red back to green all within a couple of seconds
-
1 ReplyFirst, matchmaking is mainly skill-based with only a little cbmm regardless of what Bungie says Second, it only looks at connection quality while you are in orbit before the match not during the match. Third, you get a red bar because of your connection to the host (one of the other players on D1 but will be a cloud server in D2). There may be a bad connection between you and the host because you are on different continents or the host connection goes bad. It may be nothing to do your your connection to the internet.

Yep not playing crucible these days. Seems more prevalent than before.

Before I got my booster I had horrible lag and was probably reported several times for lagging/cheating but it was just my house lagging me not a switch lol. Since I've been to both sides on the spectrum in a way I give them the benefit of the doubt and just hope it's bad lagging issues. With all the hate mail I used to get, now I don't think every person lagging really hard is a lagswitcher but there are the select some that even my old Internet couldn't make me lag so much.
