I'd rather items be very expensive & tied to some type of challenging Quest, than this ridiculous rng..

RNG seems to be your main source of creating game time & replay-ability, instead of relying on quality content. I think if items were very expensive, & had to be earned, it would make obtaining the item way more enjoyable, and you'd have a sense of accomplishment along with earning said item. So, imo, if items were very expensive, & there were Quests involved, and we knew what we were getting and how to get it, it would be much better than the lazy disrespectful RNG slot machine. Same goes for weapon and armor perks. Everything should have a path to be earned. Instead of level 40, how's about level 500, with unlocks along the way?

  • I'm annoyed by this personally as rng IS NOT BAD inherently the issue is that they can have rng as far as its drop rate but you can determine WHERE it drops. ( thorn dropping from hive for example) I want weapons to chase not a backlog of quests that make me play pvp when despise the pvp in destiny or someone being forced to do pve when they feel similarly about pve. I want to randomly see something yellow drop after a strike or a raid and I don't want a stupid fkin consumable to determine if that can even happen. I don't want total rng and I'm fine with some weapons being quest bound but I feel that there is something special about FINDING the really powerful/unique/lore heavy weapons and armor. I don't want welfare of the nine to hand out items to those who don't have time to play as these people are not entitled to these items and these items need to be worth chasing and adequately hard to get as this gives the items value. I don't intend to put off the demographic of people who like I said don't have time to grind/farm for these items. The state of destiny is now that the highest tier items in the game are just used to feed into other items as a form of progression which is mind-boggling that this was allowed to be a thing. These items should be something that you take notice in a positive way when one drops instead of saying "ugghhh another telesto whelp infusion fuel." They need to have paths of progression for everyone and they need routes that cater/favor the hardcore and/or the long term players who can/do invest more time overall than the people who only play in small amounts of time. This isn't unfair to those without the time it's fair to the people who truly love the game and want to or actively do almost exclusively play this franchise the hardcore need things to work for.
