RNG seems to be your main source of creating game time & replay-ability, instead of relying on quality content.
I think if items were very expensive, & had to be earned, it would make obtaining the item way more enjoyable, and you'd have a sense of accomplishment along with earning said item.
So, imo, if items were very expensive, & there were Quests involved, and we knew what we were getting and how to get it, it would be much better than the lazy disrespectful RNG slot machine.
Same goes for weapon and armor perks. Everything should have a path to be earned.
Instead of level 40, how's about level 500, with unlocks along the way?

Going off your intro. HELL NO lol. What this company offers is not worth the price even if it was through a quest. When it comes to Tess, she is worse then playing on a slot machine in Vegas and knowing this company. They would find some loophole if it was a quest anyways. So always remember who you're actually dealing with.
