10 Reasons why D2 PvP will suck for Solo Players

1) No Rumble 2) 4v4 only - means your group of randoms will be exclusively matched against full fire teams 3) As a solo player you will be used to replace the leavers on the losing team 4) Even slower TTK of weapons means the days of your solo kills (uh sorry, Eliminations) are over 5) Because of 4), Enemy Fireteam will teamshot you into the ground 6) Your abilities will suck - again no solo plays, teamshot will win the day 7) Best case one super per Game - nuff said 8) Good luck getting Power ammo in a group of randoms - say goodby to shotguns and snipers 9) Because of 8), no way to make solo plays 10) And finally - Matchmaking... I think they removed Rumble, because with ultra slow TTK and no abilities you can basically walk away from every gunfight. The whole mode seems no longer feasible. Because solo kills will be really hard they changed Kill to Elimination. So everybody gets his participation trophy. Edit 1: As we are trending, just a quick clarification: The title of this posting is not "Why PvP in D2 sucks". This is about the special situation we Solo Q players are in. Edit 2: We all know that Solo Q already sucks in D1 (at least at higher SBMM levels). Point of this post is that all the changes coming to D2 just make it even worse.

  • look im not great at pvp and honestly i don't really care i think it's fun, but i do think they need to shorten the ttk because right now when you get into a 2v1 situation its death, you might bring one with you to the grave , but it's just ridiculous (thats why i ****ing hate suppremacy omg that game mode is teamshoot simulator 2017) and one might argue that it's a aim issue, but me and my friends tried isomething, we were able to play (with wtv sorcery ) against some more of our friends and just tested the ttk out, 1v2 where the single guys was only aiming headshot and the 2 others only body shots.....the solo guy still died against the surviving individual of the two. than in my , and my friends, opinion is ridiculous, you should be able (at least with good aim) to still survive in a 2v1 , THAT WHATS -blam!-ING SKILL MEANS IN A FPS. sure one can argue that you can straffe or jump or just move , but lets be honest, you take 3 pro destiny pvp gamers and put them 2v1 , the team of two is going to win 100% of the time (because they are pro gamers they got good aim and can follow their opponent) and that is ridiculous, even in halo with headshots i could get 2 maybe 3 opponents if i was lucky , now 2v1 i just dance

  • I don't know about you but I'm pretty confident that I will do well solo in pvp.... I sucked in early year 1 but then I used a special trick that helped me out tons and made me stay positive k/d almost every game..... The trick I used has been talked about everywhere and there are videos on YouTube about it. It's called [spoiler]I got gud... [/spoiler]

      One minor correction: There will be Rumble in D2. It will be you and your three random teammates fighting over the Power Ammo.

          • Everything you listed i was already used to. I doubt even 10% of my crucible playtime is with a fire team. I expect the same in Destiny 2.

            • Seen it quite a bit on the forums, not sure how people are trying to make any sensible argument that 4v4 only is somehow better than having the options for 2v2, 3v3 and 6v6 lol Seriously, it isn't. Less options in a sequel is a stupid downgrade and backwards thinking. End of. If anything there should have been more options, like adding 8v8.... Fanboys are the worst with their brown smelly tongues lol

                    • Slower ttk means solo kills are impossible? Have you watched any gameplay? In comparison to D1 most weapons only need 1 more pull of the trigger to kill. 1. And movement it slower. Abilities will only suck if you suck at using them. 4v4 does NOT mean we'll only be matched with teams Also you only saw people getting one super per game because of the game type. In a faster mode, more kills, more orbs, more supers. And implying that you cant make solo plays because you can't use snipers and shotguns makes it sound like you need to brush up on your primary shot

                      • It will help them actually. It will hurt players that used gunplay and movement perks heavily imo. Gunplay is spamming shots. Abilities are encouraged more and many are team oriented. Evades are dulled down somewhat. 1hk weapons are limited. Stats are all fixed. Assists count as a kill. So far is a big mosh pit where individuals are in fixed builds with a defined role. No need for fireteam action. It's pretty clear what you are good at and not good at. You can play off your team without talking.

                      • Easy way to fix all 10 reasons you listed PvP will suck for solo players: 1) Find some friends 2) That's it If you want to play solo that's fine, but Bungie doesn't have to cater to you. Just stop. There are plenty of LFG sites, including on Xbox Live. I'm not sure about Playstation but I'm sure there is an LFG, even if not there are plenty of sites you can go to to find a group if you want to play PvP and you see all the things you listed as issues if you are playing alone, find a group, make some friends, and you no longer have to play solo. You can still if you want, but you aren't required to play solo. You can come up with reasons doing anything alone might suck more than if you have a group to do it with, that is why people have friends.

I prefer 4v4 actually, less chances of being matched with noobs on your team in that same situation. Realistically though, this won't happen very frequently. 3) As a solo player you will be used to replace the leavers on the losing team Already happens. Less players in a match means less players leaving as well, so this will probably happen less actually. 4) Even slower TTK of weapons means the days of your solo kills (uh sorry, Eliminations) are over Awesome. Just like the halo days. Still the best multiplayer game to ever exist imo. 5) Because of 4), Enemy Fireteam will teamshot you into the ground Assuming you are bad, don't know how to use cover, and the rest of your team are pigeons. 6) Your abilities will suck - again no solo plays, teamshot will win the day Again, the assumption being every game you play you will be matched against a 4 man fireteam. Realistically, this won't happen very frequently. 7) Best case one super per Game - nuff said Good. Focus on gunskill. 8) Good luck getting Power ammo in a group of randoms - say goodby to shotguns and snipers From the pvp we have seen so far, it looks to me that power ammo spawns in random locations throughout the map, not necessarily central like heavy ammo currently spawns. 9) Because of 8), no way to make solo plays If you are terrible and only know how to get kills using heavy/special weapons or abilities. 10) And finally - Matchmaking... Not quite sure of the point you are trying to make on this one.

                          • 1) No Rumble -at launch- is the official party line, meaning it is possibly being added later. Just like no raid -at launch-. 2) Why? Do you mean to say that there is a system in place that will 100% of the time pit a random group against a non-random group? I haven't seen copy on that anywhere. Assume it's going to be about how it is now; you'll get mixed lobbies and stacked lobbies. Nothing else has proven otherwise yet, so this claim is simply YouTuber / Streamer rhetoric thus far. 3) Or the winning team (since we have established that no one can prove every team will be a stack). Even in a stacked team, people have to leave, lose connection, get kicked, etc., so this is a bad argument. And this already happens anyways, so it's not really a change. Faster to the loot screen and to get into a more decent match. 4) If you watch the videos closely, it seems like the TTKs are primarily slower on body shots; I've seen plenty of clips of hand cannons killing in 3 shots, pulses killing in what appears to be 3 bursts, etc. From what I've observed, having better aim will give you similar TTKs to what we have now, having bad aim will slow you down substantially. If you count the loss of OHK weapons and massive ability damage, then sure, but those have been getting in the way of the gun fighting for a while anyways. 5) I assume you've been to Sector 618, or seen game play from it? That is an auto rifle kill-team map if there ever was one. If the opponents are even remotely good, if you peek, you die. You can do this anywhere already anyways with 3 people and Paleocontacts. Again, this isn't new, but the lower body shot damage means it's now less effective. 6) Really? My abilities will be terrible? Or do you mean they aren't going to be more viable than a bullet to the nose? I don't think that making a grenade less than 80% of a fight is a bad thing. I don't think that no longer allowing a class to substitute sticks or melees for ever firing a shot is a bad thing. I think the ability to drop an instant recovery zone is an amazing thing, and allows for some very strategic solo plays, and even more strategic group lays. All in all, I think this is people not liking the fact that D2 will not be leaning back towards the fabled Y1. 7) Ok...well, the Countdown mode we saw is essentially the equivalent of Elimination, and it's the only mode we've really seen; how many supers do you get on average in a Trials match, assuming no Skorri's camping or bubble chain? 1, maybe 2 if you're super on point or the match runs long? We're seeing what is essentially the new Trials format, and it looks like the super charging is fairly in line with what we expect to see now. 8) Getting power ammo will be easier than getting heavy is now. It spawns faster, and if you kill the guy holding it, you get his ammo dropped as a brick. With power weapons having lights on them to indicate that someone has ammo, and the game telling you when and where they got it, and in what kind of weapon, going after the power weapon carrier is going to be a very real and viable strategy to getting it yourself. And as to snipers and shotguns, that's fine. They were abused for long enough. The OHK meta days are over. 9) Or...because of 8, making a solo play on the power ammo carrier could turn the tide of a fight. Unless you think having a rocket, sniper, fusion, shotty, or grenade launcher makes you unkillable, in which case I've been living a lie for years. 10) Ummm...yeah...there will still be that. It'll be just as bipolar as ever, I'm sure. Basically, I'm seeing that you don't like the current ammo economy much, and are wanting a lot more OHK capabilities with more rushing and abilities eclipsing actual gun skill. I am so happy that we are headed in the opposite direction from that.
