Geren woke with a splitting headache. He looked around at the drab cell. He was laying on the ground in a room about the size of his quarters on the Maverick. The room was bare except for a small cot in the corner. He looked for an exit. There was a doorway but modified Fallen tripmines covered it. He stood, but was overcome with dizziness. He placed one hand on the wall to steady himself. Suddenly the door deactivated and three people walked in. They were wearing armor and carried shotguns except for the woman in the middle, who still wore her red dress but had ditched the scarf. Geren laughed. "I should have known that you were a trap." He said. The woman smiled. "I think your going soft, Geren." She said in a silky voice. "That's your opinion, not mine." Geren replied. She laughed. "You really think I wouldn't find you?" She said. Geren thought for a moment. "Yes." He said. She laughed again. "Well I have to say, you led us on quite a merry chase." She said. "Oh, Lila. Why did you betray us?" Geren asked. "I found a better job." she said. "So, what do you want?" He asked. "Your body is worth quite a lot around the system. We could make a pretty penny off of you." She said. "Really?" Geren asked. "Goodnight, Geren. In the morning we will drop you off with the Sunbreakers. You've made quite an enemy of them." She said. They turned and left. The lasers reactivated and Geren sat on the cot. How was he going to get out of this? The Vestian guards were not happy with being forced to review security feeds to look for Geren. "How do you know he's not late?" the guard asked. "Geren is never late. He didn't show up at the meeting place. Something is wrong." Myra said. The rest of the crew crowded around her. The guard sighed and went back to scrolling through feeds. "Wait, go back!!" Sully yelled. The guard reversed the video. "Right there!!" He said. There on the feed was a woman wearing a red dress with a green scarf. "Lila." Moron growled. They watched as she lured Geren into the alley. "And she has Geren." Myra said.
