No knife on Arcstrider?
Is this for real? The bladedancer gets replaced with Arc strider and Bungie decides to remove the knife entirely from the subclass? The only melee I've seen from the Arc strider is a punch....why? Why abandon the lore like that? And a punch? Seriously?
The Bladedancer was what brought me to Destiny in the first place. I was upset when I heard it was replaced but convinced myself to keep the faith in Luke Smith and his team. Then I read about the skill tree for the Arc strider and felt hopeful. But now that I've seen some gameplay and realized there's no knife at all in the subclass I'm just completely disheartened. It's a decision that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm ready to cancel my pre-order....im just not excited anymore.

2 RepliesHey along with the changes made to hunter I think they should also make the titans have a knife and warlocks should do a head butt. Also why not make Ikora a titan, Zavala a hunter, and Cayde could be a warlock. Just change all the lore you know? it obviously doesn't matter to most people right? So yea just go a ahead and change everything we knew about the game because the lore obviously doesn't matter anymore...

Ok I think that canceling your preorder over a melee animation is ridiculous and stupid, but I do wish it was a knife I really hoe they change it. It will annoy me till the day I die if they don't.

Edited by SancusXenon: 6/15/2017 5:07:12 AMIts because Arcstrider is modeled after the standard monk class in rpg's and MMO's. The monk classes most iconic 'weapons' besides a staff is their fists and feet. That is why the Arc Maul's melee is a punch.

4 RepliesIt's a glitch, numbnuts. The knife is still there. A visual glitch in the alpha build causes it to disappear.

I won't do anything drastic like cancelling but the knife is a vital part of the whole class identity and will be a shame if it is completely gone from the Arc subclass. Incidentally, the new press kit photos has an amazing concept painting of the D2 Hunter and her new snake cloak and she is most definitely wearing a curved blade knife...
