As we flew down to earth I turned to Jedesia.
"You will stay here while Drake and I go to the City. You don't have powers so you will stay with the ship and be on standby in case we need you."
She sighed. We flew down and landed near the wall hidden in a group of trees. Drake and I jumped out and we approached the wall. There were three Titans guarding this section.
"You take the two on the right, I'll get the one on the left." I said.
Drake launched into the air while I blinked my way up. Drake vaulted over the lip of the wall and smashed his foot into the first guards chest.
I appeared above the other and kicked.
Both collapsed to the ground.
The third titan charged us but Drake threw a punch that knocked him out.
We jumped off the wall and entered the city. The moment we landed I knew, something was wrong. A gray haze hung over everything and the sky was overcast with dark clouds.
Drake and I proceeded down the road, looking left and right.
"Where is everyone?" Drake asked.
The streets were empty.
Normally they would have been bustling with civilians going to work, selling their wares.
We edged cautiously out into the main road. There was nobody there.
We walked down the road, keeping to the shadows.
"There!" Drake whispered.
Ahead, wrapped in an old blanket, was a man.
He was trembling in the fetal position on the ground. Drake and I approached.
"Hello? Sir?" I asked in a whisper.
He turned. Drake and I stumbled back a few steps. His eyes were gone. It looked as if they had been burnt out of his head. He spoke.
"Their coming. Slice and dice." he said.
"what?" I asked.?
"Their coming. Slice and dice. Their coming. Slice and dice. Their coming. Slice and dice. Their coming. Slice and dice." his words began coming faster and faster, until he was screaming.
"THEIR COMING! SLICE AND DICE!"
Suddenly he stopped. A low, rumbling groan, echoed through the road. The man curled up and whimpered.
"Its too late." he said.
Drake grabbed my sleeve.
"I think we'd better go." he said.
As we stepped back, the man said one last thing.
"You'd better run along before it gets dark." he said.
Drake and I turned to run but before we could move a blazing red beam of light skewered us in its glare. A low moan sounded from the end of the alley.
"SLICE AND DICE!" the man screamed, while giggling.
