So I've been obsessed with Destiny-related vs debates lately, and I saw one made shortly after TTK's release asking who would win between the Hive and the Covenant. IMO it is pretty obvious who would win, but the majority of people in the debate hadn't even read the Books of Sorrow, so yeah...That said, I'm sure most of #Lore has, so this should be significantly more accurate.

1 ReplyHive would win because they have gods
-
4 RepliesThe Covenant vs thanos with the infinity stones
-
6 RepliesThanos with the heart of the universe vs the hive
-
1 ReplyThe Covenant wouldn't be able to damage the Hive because they don't have light.
-
Darkseid Vs Thanos

2 RepliesFlood > Everything

-
30 RepliesIt would be better to have it be Covenant vs Fallen for they are more similar. The hive would face the flood.
-
19 RepliesHive vs The Flood is a better choice or Covenant vs The Fallen. I mean they are especially just tweeked versions.

15 Replieshttps://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/227953098/0/0 Look how bias people are. They dont realize this version of thor can destoy galaxies.

Guardians vs odin from marvel. The guy who could create and destroy galaixes.
-
Kuraishi SolWow Fam Desu - old
It'd be like the flood taking them, nothing in the covenant has any real special power so the hive would win easily -
The hive vs multiversal mistress death.
-
Oryx can destroy universes just with a swing of his sword.
-
The Universe is so vast and expansive, aside from copyright infringements, races like the Covenant, Flood, can exist out there in Destiny.
-
Space Covenant Ground hive Just my opinion Play it all the Halo games read all the books have been listening to Destiny lore podcast but I'm sure I haven't heard everything so probably knowledgeable but no expert
-
9 RepliesHive, easily. All those civilitations in the BoS were wiped out with ease by Oryx alone, the Covenant would be no different.

11 RepliesEdited by BattleCry1986: 6/9/2017 7:47:20 PMAs a thought experiment, I'm going to work this out mathematically in an attempt to figure what race is more powerful by setting the scale as Chef approximately equals Striker Titan. Debate this all you like. The fact is these are two different imaginings of a fantasy universe and this is the closest approximation I can make. Note A: I don't think the question is how powerful Oryx is. Without his Brood helping him feed his worm he's very easy to kill (we did it in the game solo.) Note B: I'm not going to consider Space Combat. Neither game involves space combat so we don't have any really useful numbers to go off of here. Step 1: What is the exchange rate of a HP point from Halo to Destiny? Known Facts: A Spartan's shield has 70 points. A Spartan's armor has 45 point that make a Spartan totally 115 points to be killed. A Spartan’s Melee gets 70 points of damage. A Spartan’s Charge gets about 95 points of damage. A Striker running max armor has 199 Hit Points A standard Striker Melee hits for 122 Shoulder charge deals 200 damage The ratios are Halo:Destiny: Max HP 155/199 = 1:1.283 Melee: 70/122 = 1:1.742 Charges: 95/200 = 1:2.105 Because HP points on your character is a more reliable figure I’m going to perform a weighted average favoring Max HP 2x over Melee and Charge. For an average of ((155/199)x2 + 70/122 + 95/200)/4 Result: 1,265,641/1,942,240 So we can estimate that 1 HP in the Halo world is worth approximately 1.5 HP in the Destiny world. Halo – Destiny 1 = 1.534,589,982,467,382 Please read comments below if you wish to continue with my Projection. 50 RepliesOK how about this! General grievous with his dreadnought that has a similar weapon to oryx's dreadnought Vs Oryx and the dreadnought
-
I mean if it's one on one, a brute will completely -blam!- up a hive knight. Civilization vs civilization...hive probably gets it. I read the book of sorrows...but I don't remember all of it. Don't blame me if I'm wrong
-
40 RepliesOryx's ship enters Covenant space. Covenant Cruisers melt it. Seriously, the Covenant might as well have unlimited resources and manpower. The Hive are a speed bump.
-
13 RepliesAll of you -blam!-s in the comments trying to either claim that "Covies win no match lolz", or trying to pass it off as an even match.......... You people do realise that Oryx's entire life was pretty much about wiping out Covenant-level civilizations, right? The ones that were mentioned in more than one sentence were civilizations Oryx thought put up enough of a fight to remember. Most of them were more likely to be compared to the Forerunners than the Covenant. Also, for the record, what OP means by "pre-split" is the period of time when Oryx's siblings, Savathûn and Xivu Arath, were still fighting alongside him. They thought he had become too powerful, so they split up their army into three and went off to wage their own personal crusades. What this means is that in the scenario OP proposes, the Hive have their entire pantheon of gods leading them as one single unified legion, wielding weapons we have not seen in the game (yet). TL;DR: Covies gets torn to shreds, Hive wins, case closed.

1 ReplyHive are gay lmao
-
1 ReplyThe Hive don't say "arrrrrrgh roll a blunt" like Covenant Elites do so I'm going with The Covenant.

1 ReplyWouldn't it be Hive vs. Flood? Either way, Covenant or Flood would win.
