I believe it can be done.
As an avid gun owner, I have always pondered how many of the weapons in Destiny could be built in real-life. How many of them take cues from actual weapons? I say a few.
"Zhalo Supercell" - Takes cues from the Russian AK-47, but in a bullppup configuration.
"Fabian Strategy" - Takes cues from the FN SCAR-H and the Sig-552.
"Strongbow D" - Takes a cue from the SPAS-12, least the front end.
"The Next Best Thing" - Takes strong cues from the Mossberg 500, but encased in a custom railed chassis.
Half of the Scout Rifles take a cue from the FN P90 SMG, just look at the MIDA Multitool or the Vision Of Confluence for example; the grip area is pretty much taken directly from the P90, plus the magazine looks like Magpul survived the Collapse and somehow still makes magazines. LOL.
But back to the Khvostov; the rifle is pretty much a modified AR-15 rifle with a side charging handle and what looks like a VERY oversized magazine well.
The main elements are there, so with some creating machine work, I bet a real-life Khvostov 7G 02 is achievable.
I know some of you guys are gun owners, so you can relate...
The stock is easily a Magpul MOE Rifle Stock.
The extended mag well is a Grauer Systems IGRS.
Pistol Grip could be a modified A2 grip with some grip tape wrap
The rail system looks like an A.R.M.S. #50 M-CV S.I.R. rail.
The barrel could be a good 16" HBAR profile barrel (govt. profile under the hand guard for weight savings).
Add the proper amount of cosmetic enhancements, including a modified Remington 870 shotgun fore grip, fitted to the lower front rail. and some Lancer magazines.
Then paint it all in "The Last Warmind" embellishment and you're done.
Now, I know that with some creativity, you can definitely modify airsoft guns to look like some of the in-game weapons, which i think it'd be cool to tote around at a con, but my idea for a real-life, real-firing Khvostov 7g-02 would be the ultimate project for anyone that has the skill, resources and (in states where gun ownership is not curtailed) the ultimate conversation starter at the range.

Love it.

Having very little knowledge of how guns work I find this, and all the replies, very fascinating.

1 ReplyThe Khovostov would be so much better if they pretended it was real life and they used the ammo and magazine meant for the gun. They jammed a 5.56 mag and ammo into a .308 magwell. They should mark it with a .308 / 7.62x51 caliber (how the hand cannons all have .44 magnum stamped) and make it the best high impact AR.. the burst fire node would make it like a spare change/parthian, and the scout node would make it hit like a jade rabbit.

The Khvostov is the one gun in the game actually meant to represent "modern" guns. So I imagine that it would be the easiest to replicate using modern guns.

Real one would work much much better.

3 Repliesin all honesty, all it is, is a side charging AR-15. which you can get now. there are several side charging uppers out there. everything else about it is more or less, cosmetic.

2 RepliesI pretty much have one with an ACOG.

1 ReplyFind someone who is good at solving problems. Give them a picture of the gun and tell them to make it real.
