As our ships rocketed down through the atmosphere, I began composing a message for Galon. We reached the New York crater and I told Hex to find a cave large enough to hold our ships. Jedesia hailed me on the radio. "Jaden? Are you there?" "I'm here." I said. "I wanted to say thank you for saving me." she said, quietly. "Well, I couldn't leave you there." I said. We transmated out into the cave and watched as Hex and Cassie landed our ships in the cave. Jedesia turned to me. "Cassie and I were talking, on the way down here." I gulped. "You aren't a guardian? You stole your powers?" "Jedesia." I shook my head, at a lost for what to say. "Tell me the truth. Are you part of the resistance against guardians?" she said, staring at me. "Yes." I said. "But it's not what you think." "So everything you said to me was a lie!" she said, angrily. "No!" I said frantically. "You stole powers you didn't deserve. You have helped kill good guardians, friends of mine!" she yelled. "There is no such thing as a good guardian!" I said, furiously. "Then what am I? Am I evil?" she asked. "Your different." I said. "You believe that all guardians are evil. Did it ever occur to you that maybe not all of us are evil? That maybe some of us could help you?" she said. "I'm sorry not all of us got to see the good side of guardians. You can't see much good when they are murdering your family in front your face." I sneered. "I'm sorry that happened to you but you can't let one experience determine how you see all guardians." she snapped. She reached out and took my hand. "You can forget about those things. You can start over." she paused. "With me." "I don't need you!" I snarled. Her face dropped. "Then this is goodbye." she whispered. "I guess so." I said. She walked toward her ship. Before she got in she turned around to look at me. "Just tell me, what are you fighting for? To kill all guardians?" "I... I don't know." I admitted. She shook her head. She climbed into her ship and started the engine. I stepped back as the engine roared to life. "[i]What am I fighting for?[/i]" I thought as Jedesia ship disappeared over the horizon.
