Why the sensors vanished Theory
so i had a think and there are only 4 possible ways that all the sensors went down:
1: the cabal attacked them, but this seems odd how did they sneak into the tower... Maybe the sions (however u spell that) did some telekinetic thing ?
2: lysander had agents switch them off but then icora says "there not there" which indicates they are destroyed or vanished
3: the speaker deactivated them, but theres no motivation for this and even so they are not there
4: my tinfoil hat personal favorite theory the cabal stole vex tec, i mean think about it how else did they trap the traveler? yes they sent some kind of vex devise to pull the sensors out of reality or something.

The cabal disabled the satellites while in space, then sent psions to disable the sensors outside the walls, then they created an artificial storm to cover their tracks while they charged the tower and the city. The sensors in outer old Russia had already been damaged, if not destroyed by the splicer offensive on the cosmodrome. The cabal timed it perfectly after the taken and splicers attacked. With the splicers neutralized, the taken mostly extinguished, and the house of kings in hiding(like always) only one thing stood between old Gary and his chance to have the light...US
