It's no secret that H5's compaign wasn't up to par, so how would you fix it if you were given the opportunity to rewrite it as long as the general plot remains the same. I would first open up with a psychological evaluation of the master chief losing cortana. the prologue would suggest that losing her has negatively affected him. He's very tense, short to the point. The end result would be reuniting with blue team in hope to get him back in line (which doesn't work if you read the comics "no one tells the chief what to do"). the first mission would be chief and blue team exploring a small town on an unknown planet. It's heavily populated with civilians who seem to want nothing with the chief or the UNSC. It's noted that was partially glassed by the covenant during the war but is now the poster child of humanity reclaiming their planets again. Blue team makes there way through the streets as people actively avoid them. They eventually find a forerunner entrance and make their way in. Fred makes a comment about the Dyson Sphere they were trapped in on onyx. The team fights through waves of Prometheans until they arrive at a large control room. The chief turns to the computer and activates the dormant guardian. Blue team escapes and watches the guardian make it's way into slipspace to a unknown location. Watching the devastation from their prowler in low orbit linda mentions the death toll and how no one in the colony survived. She ask's the chief how can they justify this. He replies that [b]great threats require great sacrifices[/b] (this is the lead up to fireteam osiris hunting them and makes the advertisement for Halo 5 match the game itself) The following missions are very similar to the game. Osiris recruits halsey to help them find the chief, they find out that the master chief is heading to meridian and they race to get there. Fireteam Osiris finds Blue team about to enter the guardian. Chief does not hesitates and orders blue team to fire at fireteam osiris. (this replaces the first warden boss fight). Locke flanks them and makes his way to chief as he activates the guardian. They fight but the chief wins. As blue team enters the guardian before it takes off chief looks at locke and says "sanghilios is next" before entering the guardian himself. The next mission follows blue team. They arrive on Genesis where they slowly make their way to the control room. while fighting prometheans blue team has a conversation about if what they did was worth when a familiar voice begins to speak.[b] To think I was composed by mere humans[/b] says a familiar voice. Realizing that it's the didact blue team turns to face where the voice is coming from. Warping in the didact's new form appears (he's basically the new warden eternal. The didact's return makes sense because why would you introduce a new bad guy if you were going to kill him off in the first game) Blue team and the didact fight each other as blue team gets closer to the control room [b]The ancilla you seek is just a mere remnant of it's former self. Using it so you could start the reclamation was apart of my plan. Thanks to you, I am now in control [/b]the didact would say. The mission would end with what appears to be a fight blue team can't win The missions leading up to fireteam osiris arriving at genesis would remain the same with the premise that the master chief has turned rouge. the arbiter doesn't believe that it is true but offers his help. once on genesis osiris finds out that the blue team has been manipulated by the didact. They face a similar situation where they are fighting the didact. He would tease Osiris by saying [b]humanity is a blight upon the galaxy. the others will be composed, but you are not worthy enough[/b] Osiris is slowly losing but something is fighting back. some prometheans seem to have been taken over by another entity. The tide of the battle is slowly turned in osiris' favor. The didact retreats as his guardians spread across the galaxy. Another familiar voice starts to talk to osiris [b]save them[/b] says cortana. Osiris eventually saves blue team from being composed. The final mission brings it around to blue team again. the didact comes back in force to kill them. Osiris says they'll hold him off while blue team goes and saves cortana. while they're inside osiris says that the didact has slipped passed them and he's on his way. Finally making it to cortana, it's clear that she's not in the best shape of her life.[b] I'm only a remnant, i barely remember anything. I remember you though, i saved you. she would say to chief. [/b]Their reunion would be cut short however as the didact bursts into the room. you're defeat is inevitable he would shout. the remnant cortana says that you cannot beat him, only contain him. blue team holds off the didact's assault as cortana muster's her strength to activate the cryptum to trap the didact. [B]fools, i am now one of many [/b]the didact would say just before he's contained. The individual parts would collapse to the ground with the lights turned off. His final words would be [b]enjoy your small victory human. it will be the last[/b] the epilogue would be similar to the game. the guardians would be spread across the galaxy with the didact claiming that humanity needs to learn it's proper place. Infinity escapes and gets pinged by blue team to pick them up on genesis
