Opinions on Destiny 2, Recent 2 hour long gameplay livestream
First I want to say the graphics really bother me.. maybe because I'm only watching and not playing it yet but geez man
Second, the gameplay doesn't seem that impressive to me.. maybe because of the map/ map size and game mode? Maybe because it's only 4 players? Idk, can't seem to put my finger on it right now
I do like the abilities/ supers though
Hopefully the beta will give more insight

3 RepliesI haven't gotten the "wow" factor out of what's been shown so far. The PVP is definitely a no for me this go-around. The PVE stuff looks off to me... it has some old elements to it which is good but also kind of boring at the same time, and the new elements look kind of gimmicky. Hopefully my opinion will change, my friends have all expressed interest in it. However, if you asked me today if I plan to buy it, it is a no at this point in time.

7 RepliesNothing made me want to cancel my pre-order. Mainly because i don't pay for it until its shipped, and I get beta access. But ... I would say that the main focus on the game is PvP.. the re-organised weapon slots, snipers getting moved to power slot. The double primaries. remove problematic weapon archetypes and limit their usage, all smacks of pvP balance. the elemental slot gets called out for PvP in just about every interview. Shoot a guy while hes in super with the correct element and you get more damage on him. No talk on how this gets used for PvE players. the obvious answer is shielded enemies take more damage, but thats an assumption. Also there arn't that many shielded enemies in PvE to warrant this mechanic ?!? The weapons slots are geared towards team play. Synergising weapons with your team. Harder for solo players to do shit solo, unless PvE has been dumbed down as well. Being a PvE main player, the skill trees worry me. Selecting a set of perks rather than customising a build, just dumbs down the PvE experience. I don't know if each subclass will have a PvP and a pvP skills tree. Easier to balance in PvP (another pvP focus) Even if the skills perks get moved to the armour, does that mean we have RNG skill builds? I see a common theme of PvP focus, with very little so far for PvE players to get excited about.

They look better than D1, the metallic portions reflect lighting & effects, Warlock robes still glitch like a ninja gaiden scarf, cloth armor moves realistically. I don't get the graphic dislike so many are talking about. I don't see the "cartoony" bits.

13 RepliesSo you don't like the PvP? What about the rest?. The guns, the missions the cinematics, it all looks great. I can't wait to get my hands on the game and roam the new worlds with my bodies. Yes it looks like Destiny because it is and that's the best part.

2 RepliesEverything so far looks good to me. Being an extreme critic of D1. In my opinion, D1 is broken beyond saving in multiple ways. I'm largely a pvp player, and had lost all hope for the game. Recently, for the first time in 3 years, ran Titan. Striker with garrison is the most fun I've had in the crucible since before kings fall. Which is bad, all classes should be fun. I like how in D2, hunters keep the dodge. Strong believer that Hunters should have highest mobility overall. Interested to see however if the garrison will make a return for titans. Only thing that concerns me is the 4v4 max playlists. I mean, sure it'll make it seem like more people are playing, less games with unfilled spots. But it's gonna take away from the casual aspect of the game. 6v6 is the pub arena. It's there for when you're solo, and just wanna mess around. Or if you're very drunk/stoned and want to half play. Overall though, looking forward to it. Love the new sounds, especially the hunter jump sound. Hopefully the hype for D2 isn't similar to D1 with the same after effect. Hoping for best!

IMO I don't think downsizing the game mode was the best interest for the entire playerbase. It's more then oviouse this company did not "hear" the community this last 2+ years of feedback on wanting bigger maps, larger teams etc... I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this companies decisions in this game but it's not working for me at this point. If you look at vanilla all the way up until now you'll see since vanilla this game has been downsizing when most gamming companies try to keep from that. Having 4v4 on every mode is going to get boring, this is why there is a verity of team modes in most PvP games if not all. Then you have to count for Trials on how it's going to effect the normal PvP and IB. With teams if it's also 4v4 it will encourage more Trials gamers to want to pounce on the noobs in the normal mods. I'm not seeing many gamers having fun with that when they will be playing with try-hards on every map and game mode there is to play. The normal PvP is suppose to be a casual event that all should enjoy. So if things like bounties that a PvE gamer is going to want to complete because how they are set up to run both PvP and PvE. Yeah, Good luck on that! lol. IMO as far as the loadout? It's not something I'm interested in. I don't need my options limited more then they have already been in this game. The longer this game goes on it seems more and more is taken from the gamers. Weapons and gear should be able to be used to the fullest and having the option to play how you want to play. Limiting how one uses things is not something most gamers are inclined to just except. The one thing interest me right now is how some say they like the idea and that's fine. The part that interest me is when things start getting nerfed. Everyone knows how that goes when it comes to this game, and boy does everyone have an opinion on that lol. Right now these things are a real concern because all games start out with having OP weapons and the developer will look for feedback on it. And What's the feedback on this forum 95% of the time? If it kills me it's too OP. As for PvE it does seem from what has been said and shown that they have improved this game in other areas but that will remain to be seen.

Guided games is great,no more having to get on stupid shit websites outside of the game to find people to raid and do nightfalls with. No more grimoire yay,the game story will all be in the game this time and I no longer have to hear nerds bragging about how high their grimoire score is,so thanks for that one bungie. PvP now looks more similar to halo PvP with an arena focus with 4v4 matches and smaller maps which will force people to camp less and get out and have to move around the maps or get killed. All of these things combined make D2 a far superior game to destiny 1.

Wait until you see it in person to pass judgement. Plus it's an alpha build, so it'll probably be more polished upon release. Also, we only saw a little slice of gameplay. There's going to be a lot more to it. However if the beta looks, plays, feels like shit, then I'd be worried.

great hype.. 2 hours full of really no details.. sure its a coop game best played with friends.. tell us something we didn't know already. Frame rate was given to us after and honestly if its decent it won't matter.. it looks decent.. could it be better and 60fps sure but, will it be 8 bit graphics.. no. how about that p2p networking and dedicated servers, again, nothing about it in the reveal and we find out later it is a hybrid of p2p and dedicated.. sure ok.. but, we have no idea how it will size up until the beta. we didn't find out anything in the game play reveal except the change to the loadout, new supers and thats about it. I am excited for destiny 2 due to the amount of content we will have.. this last 9 months has been long with the same content we have had since september.. time for new stuff.. will it be a better game, will it have no lag and honest game play between pvp players.. who knows. will nerfs run the pvp side of things and inevitably bring pve down with it.. who knows. how the economy works, will we have emblems and shaders and how the game will play for us we simply don't have enough info yet. The reveal was a hype train leaving the station with few details. hopefully those details will be talked about soon.
