The mission The Dreadnaught...which takes place on the ship. This seemed like the best place for a post like this. If it would be better suited somewhere else, just point me in the right direction.
Some relevant points:
- This level has the infamous scannable crystals, one of which reportedly contains a Hive soul. Also references sacrificing lesser Hives soul to summon more powerful Hive. The second crystal is said to contain a lesser Hive soul, the "hard worker." Is there a third crystal?
- Each of the destroyable weapon nodes has a differently colored dust cloud that emits from it each time you shoot it. Seriously, go try it. As far as the Internet is concerned, no one else has ever noticed this. And it isn't ROY G BIV, I've tried.
- The bases of each crystal are differently colored as well, if I recall properly.
- What caused me to notice the color coding was some sort of chime that sounded when I destroyed one of the nodes while running this mission back as the Daily Heroic. I've never been able to reproduce this, nor have I heard that same sound anywhere else in the game before. And believe me, I've tried to trigger it again. No, it was not the weapon powering down.
- Possibly related: Nokris. Although unlikely.
- Not to mention the Crota-wannabe that first steps through the Court's Rupture.
Could someone refresh me on the location of all of the scannable crystals? Any contribution is appreciated.
Sidethought: I wish that Destiny's community was more like the Halo skull hunters back in the day on Bungie's forums.

Sidethought: I wish that Destiny's community was more like the Halo skull hunters back in the day on Bungie's forums.
The Destiny community was like this in the beginning of the games lifetime, but there is not very many mystries out there left for the tinfoil hat wearers to chase at this point.

Try hitting them with an exotic sword, in an exotic order.

2 RepliesThe Secret of the Dreadnaught: they convinced people that there were secrets around every corner and got people to actually buy another Destiny dlc after swearing they wouldn't again....

5 RepliesWhat about "that knight", from the cutscene with oryx right after you leave phobos? Has anyone killed him yet? He's supposedly one of those secret bosses we heard about.
-
The secret boss is found in "the fonts" area He is in that chamber that moves up and down and also tied down by chains. If you look up in that area. You will see a rotating handle.

1 ReplyIt's CYMK

It isn't a secret now since you just told everybody about it.Not trying to sound like a smartass or anything but I had to say it.

It's not that deep.

I've never noticed the scannable crystals, where are they located?
-
You think that's weird. If you go into the mausoleum and go into the spawing rooms and look up 2 of them look EXACTLY like the plates in golgeroths cellar, 1 is missin the center metal circle. Also (in another loading zone) you see that circle just sitting there against the wall. As if you could somehow take it and bring it over to the room were it should go.

3 RepliesI noticed this before but couldn't bother to find out if it meant anything. Plus I splerged and ran right into thalnok for the lulz. There is a mission where you can see 3 orange/yellow glowing pillars in Rasputin's bunker. The room where you kill the specific order of knights then an ogre. They don't appear in any other mission. They don't appear in promeathian code though. It is a mission in ttk where you go all the way to the bottom to kill the taken centurion. After you get to the end before you take the elevator. Go back to the room with the cylinder pods submerged in water or electricity. If you die in those you will spawn inside the room and you'll get a close up look. No reason these should be there. But its odd to say the least. Maybe a scrapped sleaper quest discovery step?

5 RepliesYeah, last week while the TTK missions were daily heroics I got "The Dreadnaught" as my mission. I ran through normally and after destroying the last "core" thing to power down the Dreadnaught weapon I went to run through the court of Oryx as a short cut. Little did I know that the portal would open and release the Crota fan boy wannabe. Scared the shit out of me. Afterward I also learned you could scan the portal during that mission.

I might look into this. It'd be pretty cool if there was still something secret we don't yet know about.
