If I could influence one last Destiny patch...

Please read the ENTIRE post before commenting. First off, thanks to TrueVanguard for the idea. It's his idea, but he's kind of wrong, and so is most of the community, so I want this to be addressed directly to the developers, and any player that still uses logic instead of making decisions based on their emotions: set aside your hate for any one Meta, including this one, and just think about the changes I'm going to suggest. If I could influence one last Destiny Patch, it would be a wide, sweeping set of changes to fix the Crucible overall, as well as fix the damage done to PvE because of the Crucible. It's best described as a list of changes: 1. Fix bolt-type grenades. Arcbolts and Firebolts don't need arming delays, nor do they need such weak damage. Bump them up slightly, and I mean SLIGHTLY. Nothing over 100. 2. Fix Tripmines. They have near-0 tracking, and using them as a sticky grenade actually took some skill. Let them stick again. Also, bump the damage up by like 4-6 points. Anyone walking through my obvious Tripmine shouldn't just be able to shrug it off. 3. Improve Swarm Grenades. They're so weak that I almost never see them, so bump up their damage and improve their tracking. 4. Improve Thermite Grenades. Again, these are weak and useless in PVP as well as PvE. Just make it a constant stream of damage, instead of 4 weak pulses, and bump that damage up ever so slightly. 5. Improve Pulse Grenades. Solar Grenades and Vortex Grenades are BOTH better than Pulse Grenades for pretty much everything, because they deal their damage constantly, so just change Pulse Grenades to work like them, or improve the damage of the Pulses as they are now. 6. Nerf Ability charge times in PVP only. I don't care how, but this is my wishlist and this just makes sense. 30 second charge times are a lot more balanced than just over 20 second charge times. 7. Nerf Smoke. Just reduce momentum canceling and visual impairment. Getting stuck in the Wombo Combo due to visual impairment and reduced movement capabilities still happens quite often, and makes Nightstalkers dangerously close to OP in Trials, especially when there's more than one OR they're using Memory of Felwinter. 8. Buff Auto Rifle damage across the board, extend the falloff range for High Impact and Mid Impact models. 9. Extend Hand Cannon base range for High Rate of Fire models. Improve reload speed across all archetypes. 10. Slightly increase the damage of High Impact and Mid Impact Pulse Rifles. 11. Return the perk Full Auto to High Rate of Fire Scout Rifles (NL Shadow 701x, etc.). 12. Slightly extend the falloff range of Shotguns. Remove all previous handling nerfs and the in-air accuracy nerf. Keep the precision damage nerf. Return Shot Package to Shotguns. 13. Reduce charge times for all Fusion Rifles across all archetypes. Increase their base stability slightly. 14. Add Full Auto to Sidearms. 15. Revert the scope zoom nerf to Sniper Rifles. Increase magazine sizes depending on Impact. 16. Increase base Velocity and Blast Radius for certain Rocket Launchers that are generally seen as useless. Unto Dust comes to mind. 17. Fix the Special Ammo economy. My suggestion is to allow you to carry only one magazine after death, and if you have less than one magazine, you only carry over what you already had. Losing Special Ammo constantly has brought about hate for weapons like NLB, Ice Breaker, Invective, Universal Remote, and Sidearms as a whole: giving players back their Special Ammo fixes that. 18. Remove tracking from sticky-type grenades. Let them 1-hit kill, that's their job, but don't let them track targets. 19. Slightly improve the tracking of Scatter Grenades when paired with the Nothing Manacles. Ophidian Aspects just completely outclass the Nothing Manacles because the manacles lack effectiveness. 20. Undo the Blink Nerfs. Specifically, remove the HUD penalty and the activation delay. Keep the telegraphing and slight delay between Blinks. However, reducing that delay slightly is also necessary. 21. Return Shotguns to their 1.1.1 state for PvE. 22. Reduce flinch for Snipers in PvE. 23. Increase High Rate of Fire Pulse Rifle damage in PvE only. 24. Increase carried ammo capacity for all Special Weapons back to their Year 1 states. With PVP cutting all ammo but one magazine on death (or per Trials Round), that shouldn't be a problem. This would be particularly beneficial to PvE, however. Weapons like Universal Remote would benefit from a much larger carried ammo capacity in PvE. 25. Improve the drop rates for Vanguard Strike cosmetic items (Emblems and Shaders). 26. Allow us to buy Silver Dust armor sets (from Spektar to the Dawning Sets) with Glimmer. Nobody wants to spend money on a game that is soon going to be eclipsed by it's sequel, so just let everyone get the stuff. 27. Bring back all weapons from previous versions of Destiny, like the Loner.Rebel Hand Cannon or High Road Soldier Scout Rifle. Bring them all back. Diversify the sandbox some more! 28. Reduce Hard Light's screen shake effect. 29. Allow us to infuse stats into armor (low Intellect? Take it from another piece of armor!). 30. Last and most certainly NOT the least, bring back Reforging. Grinding for a perfectly rolled Grasp of Malok or Imago Loop isn't fun, it's tedious and time-consuming. Let us reforge our weapons for the perks we want. Oh, and a bonus point: make sure the vendors sell armor and weapons that people will actually want. At least Tier 11 armor, weapons that have complementary perks or interesting builds, etc. I know some of this sounds insane, but this list only contains 3 nerfs: nerfs that make sense and the community can agree with. I'm mostly just talking about buffing weapons or abilities and undoing nerfs. As Destiny lives on, we can leave it with a far better Meta than we have now, which is probably some of the worst PVP I've ever played in my entire life. Buffing and un-nerfing is pretty much the only way this game is going to be fun until we all move on to Destiny 2. Update: a lot of people seem to have an issue with the smoke nerf idea. These were just some ideas I can up with after talking to my friends about these things, not all of these would have to happen to make the Crucible a much better place. It was just an idea. Also, before someone freaks out over shotgun buffs, remember that those are also just ideas and I made a bunch of suggestions to improve shotgun counters, and shotguns don't have nearly the same power they used to. They probably still wouldn't dominate the Meta, but if you're that worried, check how many times shotguns have been nerfed and see the difference in power that we have now. FalloutPlays has some great shotgun comparisons if you want to see that.
