If you've spent years hating lima beans, is it a knee jerk reaction to not want to try Grandma's new lima bean recipe? No, that's perfectly reasonable. So is this. You can't say you don't like something if you've never tried it. You can say that you don't like something if you've tried things very similar to it and didn't like it. You don't have to drive every minivan to know you don't like minivans. You don't have to drink every IPA to know you don't like that type of beer. You don't have to watch everyone on the PGA tour to know that you don't like watching golf on TV. Literally take anything you don't like, and ask yourself if you've tried it under any possible scenario it could exist in, and I promise you that you'll find something that you don't like, but haven't tried it in all its various forms. And yet, your dislike of that is still valid and should be respected. But we're obviously never going to see eye-to-eye on this, so I'm just going to let it go. If I could make one final suggestion though, just drop the whole "you haven't played the game" argument. It's really condescending.
