Problem: Thorn, the infamous Weapon of Sorrow, has been nerf'd to hell. Now even though it's an exotic, it cannot compete against even its merely Legendary colleagues. I strongly agree with the Bungie designer's principle that you have a cornucopia of options to choose from when it comes to gunplay. Right now, Thorn is not an option for Guardians. And that's just no fun.
Solution: Thorn is truly heinous, by name and by nature. I want to feel its history of misery and destruction whenever I heft it. To wield Thorn is to live a half live, a cursed life. Let's add some "features" to better illustrate this point. We have options:
Option I: Players actively using Thorn appear through walls as an impish green silhouette. The closer they get, the more distinctive the silhouette.
Option II: While wielding Thorn, a Guardian's footprints leave a ghastly, glowing residue that dissipate after a short time.
Option III: Thorn-bearers appear on the motion tracker as a Devourer sigil (See attached image, created by DeviantArt user "XxTurdlexX"). This effect is permanent.
Are these options mutually exclusive? Absolutely not.
Addendum I: Something implicit in this feedback is that Thorn should absolutely reclaim some of its old glory days statistical advantages, as if there is anything glorious about what it does. Thorn wants to be a foil to its nemesis, The Last Word, so let's make its behavior differ from that hand cannon in pretty much every way.
> Range pushed out to pretty much best-in-class for hand cannons. An obscene amount
> The weapon should kick like a pale horse
> Just god-awful hip fire. Like, the worst
> And lastly, the damage over time that defines Thorn should be increased.

Increase its range by 95%, increase its damage to 85, increase DoT back to 7 and make the tics last 6, increase reload and stability by 70%, make DoT stack up to 100. Balanced now
