One doesn't (and shouldn't) negate the other.

Why not both?

You didn't understand the post whatsoever. They want in game lore, but they still want grumpier to take things 1 step further. There's only so much they can put in the game. There's so much more they could do with that and grimoire

What more is there to understand? People are mad on b.net. it'll be something else next week. It's just a game.

Here's was my take on it. Let's face it, the Grimoire was a poor man's way of adding story to a game that was bereft of it. There was no narrative left after they scrapped the original script, then their writers tried to write a cohesive-ish story. Sadly by the time their (second) deadline came due they had run out of time to do things like, create cut scenes. Starting out, players were upset that they didn't get any kind of story with their sci-fi fantasy epic, and rightly so. Then along came the lore enthusiasts. Making compilations about what the meaning of the game was. And people ate it up. Why? Because these people filled a much needed void in the game. They told the story. Now that it looks like the developers are doing their job in this regard we may no longer need these people. They can say they don't want to be spoon fed the story, but really they just don't want to lose the cush gig they've got spoon feeding the lore to their readers/viewers. I get it. No one supports a decision that jeopardizes their livelihood, but let the rest of us be realistic. They're not unhappy for our sake. They're unhappy because, worst case scenario, we don't need them anymore and they're out of a job. But let's wait and see what we're actually getting with D2. It's possible that we get an awesome story and enough hidden bits to keep Muzzy and his ilk employed. And I have faith that anyone in the YouTube/Stream business is probably clever enough to find a way to get views even if they do lose their source of Grimoire. Cheers.
This was my response to Muzzy's post. Just didn't figure you'd want to go find it further down the post.
